check and see if the cabin you rented for upcoming vacations is still there. The Black Bear resort cabins were the worst hit. Most burned to the ground.
The amount of cabins burned down were 65 according to local news. I believe it was only in the one cabin resort though. Everything else in town is just like normal. If you weren't staying at that resort it won't impact any travel plans you have for the area. I could see the smoke when the fire started and it just grew and grew. Luckily no one was killed.

Black Bear Ridge Resort and Bear Creek lodging are 2 different resorts I would imagine. So many places there with "Bear" in them, and we stayed at another, Bear Creek Crossing.
I know, right? You try to help somebody out by giving information and they just argue. I guess they will be surprised when they get to the resort (or lack thereof)...
