I hate bridges how can I avoid them on 95? How many are there? :sunny:

Not sure what the definition of "major bridge" is, but I do know that the
George Washington (over the Hudson) and the Delaware Memorial (over the Delaware....sorry I had to put that in!!) are 2 "significant" bridges when traveling I-95. There's a tunnel in Baltimore and after that I think, but don't know for sure, you are okay. Seeing that you're from Central NY you could
probably bypass both if you go through PA? :confused3 I'll leave that to someone else! Good Luck!

Depends on where you are planning on picking up I-95.

You can't get past Richmond without taking a bridge over the James River. The James River Bridge is part of I-95. This site shows some good overhead views of it. Using I-295 to the east side you'll have to take the Varina-Enon Bridge, seen here. Using Route 288 to the west side you'll have to take the WWII Veterans Memorial bridge, seen here.

I don't know if any of these would qualify as "major bridges", but after Richmond I think you'll be fine until the Savannah River from SC to GA.
