Maintenance Fees – Do they go up after purchase year after year ?

Do the fees have an annual increase or are they what we lock into when we purchase ?

They go up on average about 3.5-4% per year. It varies from resort to resort. Here are some charts showing the dues increases over the years (with thanks to robinb for the dues increases and percentages):

Dues increase, but at a lower rate then the rental rate for a regular hotel room.

That was not made very clear when we talked to our guide. Im glad I found this board.

Not that it is going to make a difference in us purchasing, I just like to have all the information up front.

Over time, the dues will be the larger part of your cost of ownership. It's worthwhile (and quite sobering!) to put together a spreadsheet and see how the dues will look over the years assuming that the types of increases we've seen in past years continue to hold in the future. As disneynutz said, the cost of a Disney hotel room will also increase every year so DVC should continue to be a good deal when compared to staying in a Disney deluxe hotel.
