Just a little update - we even have a door prize!
For those of you who might be interested, a bunch of us Disney-minded individuals who live in or near Maine are getting together THIS Saturday, March 18th @ 2pm at the Olive Garden in South Portland.
If you don't already know - The Mouse For Less group (one of the many Disney groups I belong to) supports Give Kids The World, a program that gives kids with life threatening illnesses and their families a free trip to Orlando. For more information, check out this link...
http://www.themouseforless.com/community/givekidstheworld.shtml My cousin's son had cancer under his eye and was able to take advantage of a program like this, so when one 'Maineiac' asked me about offering to bring things down from all of us in Maine, I thought it was a great idea.
Anyway, since she is heading to WDW next month and is willing to deliver whatever we can get together for gifts, why not make it interesting. So, for every gift you bring to the meet for Give Kids The World, you will get one entry into a door prize of Disney gift basket with $25 Disney Dollars and other Disney goodies.
Suggested items include: toothbrushes, toothpaste, bookmarks, pencils, pens, notebooks (autograph book size), glowsticks, crayons, soaps, shampoos, unopened Happy Meal toys, stickers, or small bottles of bubbles, wrapping paper and ribbon, blank VHS tapes, blank recordable DVD discs, disposable cameras, batteries, G-rated movies, digital thermometers, rain ponchos, crayons, coloring books, toys (should be new and not used), card games, 12"
stuffed plush toys, board games, small hand held electronic games, baseball caps, toy trucks, dolls, coffee pots (8 to 12 cup), irons. Don't forget the teenage aged items, as people tend to donate for the younger age group.
Also, holiday "themed" items for Halloween or Easter or Christmas are helpful, too. As you can see, the ideas are endless.
Bring your unwrapped, new items and enter to win a fabulous prize, as well as helping out kids who really need some cheer a happy thought and some pixie dust! If you have any questions, or are planning to attend, please feel free to e-mail me.
Cheers!
