Wow, Tammi, she looks just like my Maine Coon! My vet told me she was "contest material" but that's not my thing.

*nod* One of the breeders that posts on the Siamese board I frequent was at that show, and told us about it Sunday evening. The reason it's being treated as felony Grand Theft is, that cat is "valued" at $2,500.

(Obviously, she's priceless to her Mommy, but you know what I mean by "valued.")

To actually take someone's animal is the lowest!!! That happened at a dog show in Boston a few years back. Someone stole a French Bulldog and they found it wandering around the projects.
Things are very different now at that particular show. There is a LOT of security there now. I was concerned because I was recently(2 weeks ago) showing my dog in that show and I was hesitant about leaving her in a crate. Even though she is a Doberman,she is trained to obey commands,like "come" or "out". Unlike an untrained dog who would bark and not be comfortable with strangers,show animals are very comfortable being handled by strangers.
Someone out there knows this woman. They'll catch her,the rotten skank!!

She looks a lot like my Maine Coon Meeko. I'm kinda shocked that someone would do this and more shocked that noone saw her do it. I'm sure security will be tightened and hopefully this woman will be caught.

I imagine what happened was, the breeder was talking to someone else (about buying a cat, or talking about her program or whatever). In a big crowd and with a relatively compliant cat, you could have one in your "big tote bag purse" (as described in that weblink) in five seconds, then head for the door.
