I have a theory that the main street halloween decorations will be taken down and replaced by christmas decorations on friday. why? because doesn't Disneyland and Magic Kingdom in WDW change the decorations overnight after thanksgiving? so it would make since for vmk to do it when the real world theme parks are putting up their holiday decorations. :flower:

That's true. The "official" beginning of the parks' holiday season is right after Thanksgiving, although all the trees and decorations are up already. Heck, even the Osborne Spectacle of Lights is already up and running at MGM! :D

I think it would be a wonderful idea, albeit a bit late as AdventureDaz said. They did such an amazing job dressing up Main Street for Halloween...I would love to see what they can do with Christmas decorations. With decorations that far surpass Disneyland Paris' (Orange Pumpkinmen vs. Pink Witches = INCREDIBLE!)...the VMK designs could do so much with the winter holidays!

I think that vmk may do that.If they do,they better except these word in the dictionary:merry, jingle, bells.I tried to sing Jingle Bells the other day and it came as ### ###. :guilty:

I'm not sure what VMK is waiting for........ The Christmas decorations have already been up for a week now at the real Disney parks. I think somebody dropped the ball on this one...

They have to do a "rolling set up" for all the parks and resorts. The full
decorations seem to go up "overnight" at WDW, but in reality, many of the
resorts and parks have much of it set up before Thanksgiving, with the
"overnight" finishing touches the day after Thanksgiving.

I noticed cast members setting up the Osborne Lights in Disney-MGM in
mid-October. For such a big job, I didn't doubt they'd need to start very
early to do it!

I sure hope they go up Friday as much as I love Halloween I am sick of those decorations!

I remember when I first saw them it was WOW now it is just arggg they are still there....

They Disneyland Holiday stuff officially started on, I think, November 12. Perhaps they do a special tree lighting ceremony or something after Thanksgiving (?), but all the decorations are up.

Come on staff, this IS Christmas time! The Halloween stuff was cool at first but,its still here.

I thought that they would have changed the decorations by now. I agree that the Halloween stuff has been up too long.

Many of the Christmas decorations were up in early Nov at MK. I was so excited to see the start of the holiday season. We had just been there a few days before for the NSSHP when I was there on 11/6 with an out of town guest.

A tidbit of info I read about the Osbourne Lights -
It currently features 12 miles of extension cords, 15 miles or rope lights and 1 million tie warps. It takes 18 electricians 14 weeks to install it.

I just can not wait to see the limited holiday items like the (spider web/ skelton chair) that they offer for the holidays.

I just returned from Disneyland and they are having nightly tree lighting ceremonies. I know that they had one on the 17th and the Christmas parade started on the 18th.

I asked one of the CM in the VMK Cave when they were getting rid of the Halloween decorations and all they could say is I don't know.
