Main Street bypass route almost complete **photos**

This will be awesome! It looks nice and wide too. We could have used that twice, both times related to parades. One time we got to a park to soon before the MSEP and wanted to get back towards the rides and it was so hard to navigate. We were using a wheelchair, but there was very little room on the sidewalk.

Another time, we had been on a ride and were leaving on a party night around 7:30 and it was so hard to get out because of all the people lined up for the parade.

I will be glad to know it's there.

Robo posted a map of it today on another thread. It starts in between Tony's and The Chapeau (Is that the name of it, the hat store) and it goes behind the shops on the side where the Starbucks is. It comes out in between the Plaza and Tomorrowland Terrace.

we used that path last week ... it was actually a nice walk, as opposed to the mobs on Main Street.

it was on the thread about the Christmas Parade Taping.

It looks like when it's open for park guests to use, it will be obvious, and when it's closed, you wouldn't know it's there at all. There are photos in that thread...and it looks like a big section of fence that slides open when they need it open and accessible.

Thanks! Robo to the rescue again. This is great to know and I hope it helps with traffic..at the end of the night I am glad to sacrifice the illusion of Main Street to get out faster

I took this video a month ago, I started right between the restrooms and The Plaza restaurant, this was bout 30 minutes before MSEP

Too new to know how much/when they will use it.

Up to now, it has only been for high-volume situations.

This was open in September and it was AWESOME. I thought it was done then? We are pretty much the only people on earth who have zero interest in fireworks or the parade (or so it seemed in a crowded park...with a big, wide, empty path to ourselves!). We had no idea it was there prior to using it, but it was very obvious once we saw it.

Ok. I think I got it. One entrance is to the right at Tony's and the other entrance is between The Plaza and Tomorrowland Terrace. Anyone have pictures of the entrance or can point them out. I couldn't tell in the pictures above. Thanks!

When we were there in July we did not exit after the fireworks, we headed towards Tomorrowland to do a few more rides, but there were CMs standing at the bypass entrance with Exit signs and telling guests to exit there.

Yeay!!!! There's nothing like walking down Main St. when you first get to MK but when it's time to leave, omg just let me out!!!!!!

Almost. Though by now it may be. If you look at the WDWMagic link in scrapquitler's post above (#8), the 4th and 5th photos show work behind scrims yet. As said though it may be complete by now. Several of the photos linked in the OP show what appears to be some work, and I think those photos are more recent. In any case, the route is now open at times.

Facing Tony's, it would be on the left. From the new walkway, yes, to the right.

We've been directed along that route during high-capacity times before it was fixed up as an on-stage path. Now that they've spent the time and money fixing it up I have to imagine they'd use it more often than they did when guests were being sent through a pure backstage area.

The other time I was back in that area was when I accompanied DD to an appointment at the Centra Urgent Care center. Their van pick-up area was in the CM parking lot there.
