Main Street barbershop for girls

Michael has given my dd, now 11, her back to school haircut for the past two years. In fact, when our regular hairdresser went to WDW in Oct she stopped by the barbershop to see what the deal is. She told Michael that he was stealing her customers!! We give him $20 each time. He trims dd's hair and then gels it with whatever color dd chooses and throws glitter and such on it. Last August he even chased dh out of the shop, throwing glitter on his head. Dh was mortified!!
You can not get an appt. Be there first thing in the morning. When we were there there were Disney employee's waiting in line for their monthly cut!!! We do it every trip.

Does anyone know how early they open? I know if the park is scheduled to open at 9:00 that Main Street is usually open at 8:30. I was wondering if they were included....it would be great to try to be there at 8:30 if they're open!

I highly recommend this! My son got comments on his hair all day and even into the next day!! I mentioned I couldn't even get my teenage daughter to wear a Mickey T-shirt and the lady said, "Get in my chair, I'll fix that" and did her hair for NOTHING! :wizard:

I never knew the girls could get their hair done. I'll be there first thing to get my daughters hair french braided. Plus if it stays in for a few days that will be a time saver! The pictures are all adorable.

A FEW DAYS!!! :earseek: :earseek: The braids would have to come out to wash their hair and the pixie dust wouldn't last through a shampoo/shower!?!?! :confused3

Heck, I'm going back to "The World" in 3 years for my 40th, I may treat myself to some pixie dust and a french braid for my bday, since my hair will be quite long by then!! Sounds like fun!!

I never knew this existed. Where is it?

When you walk in the main entrance it is to the left in the corner. There is a Barbershop Pole. They also do Princess hairdos for girls who don't have enough hair for a braid. They open right at 9 a.m.

?, how easy is it to get the color out? I have fair blonde hair and wanted to do this one time when we go to MK but afraid it would discolor my hair as many "wash out" colors do.

It's just a colored gel, so it comes out pretty easily. One of my son is a fair haired blonde and he got his hair electric blue. It took two washings in the tub that night and the next day there was a VERY slight tint in the sunlight still, but one more wash did the trick. No big deal. It takes at least two wash throughs for everyone I think just to get all the stuff out. Just bring plenty of shampoo! :teeth:
