Cruising on the Magic in 2 weeks and would love to hear which dishes people thoroughly enjoyed and which came up short. Please exclude anything from Palo... we all know how amazing it is.

I really loved Carioca's. The Joe's carioca's dish was good.
There was a lamb dish that my husband really liked but I'm not sure if it was in Luminier's or Cariocas

Another vote for Carioca's. It's funny. I had read a lot of not-so-great reviews of this restaurant after the dry dock, but it was our favorite - food wise, that is. I guess it just goes to show that the old cliche is really true. Food is so subjective and everyone has different tastes. For me, I loved the empanadas for an appetizer and the swordfish for our entree.

Away from the MDR, the schwarma up on the pool deck was a big hit with our family. Pick your meat, pick your toppings, sauce and wrap - yum!!

I love the Grand Marnier soufflee in Lumiere's (also on the menu at Tritons on the Wonder and Royal Court/Palace on Dream/Fantasy).

I'm also a fan of the pasta pursesettes. I ordered two servings last time!

My favorite was definitely Lumiere's. There was a mushroom ravioli dish that I was interested in. It was a main dish, but I had already wanted to try the salmon main dish so my server brought a smaller portion for me as my appetizer and it was amazing. The salmon at Lumiere's was also super fantastic. Highly recommended if you like salmon. That was my favorite meal, hands down.

I didn't like anything I ate at Carioca's. The shrimp pasta dish on the last night's menu (Till We Meet Again, I think it's called) was also quite good.

I also had an incredible lunch one day at Lumiere's. It was also a salmon (I had a lot of really good salmon on that ship), but it was so simple. Just poached with some fingerling potatoes and asparagus with a side of hollandaise. Amazing. One of my favorite meals - and it was lunch!!

Yes, those black truffle pasta pusettes are my favorite. I usually order it as my main entree, since I don't care for the rest of the menu.
Oh and Mr Smee's salad on Pirate night. Although that is a hit or miss. It's not nice when the meat has been sitting ontop of the salad for too long, the lettuce gets soggy.

I had a beef tenderloin as suggested by our server on the Hawaii cruise in September, not expecting it to be much since I am originally from beef country. But I was very pleasantly surprised. It was cooked to perfection (medium rare in my case), tender and yummy! This was on the Wonder and I believe it was in Triton's….

I love almost anything at Palo's Champagne brunch too. Mmmmm. I had sorbet after dinner at Palo that was divine!

The strawberry soup if you do Palo brunch. The fruit soups offered at lunch in lumieres.

Honestly I didn't love any of the food but also didn't hate it - it was fine. This was our first cruise and so logically I have to realize that it's going to be different than eating in a restaurant. And food is subjective. And I LOVED the service and the rest of the cruise! I will pony up the cash to try Palo on our next cruise :)

i had tandoori lamb on the last night (see you real soon menu) of the cruise and it was amazing! this was on the fantasy but they may have it on the magic. I liked it so much I ordered it on both our sailings.
I will also agree with the pursesettes . I aslo could have made that a main course and been very happy.
