Mailing your clothes?

Has anyone ever done this?
We are flying Air Tran. Bags are $15 per bag each way.
That'll be about $100+. Would it be easier, CHEAPER, and more convenient to mail them FedEX, DHL, UPS etc?
We're staying at POP, BTW, 9/19-9/27

It would be more convenient, but more expensive, to ship your clothes. Airline luggage fees are very reasonable.

$228 for next morning air to $105 for second day air down to $30 for ground (three day).

The numbers may be less if you have access to a discounted account or need to ship less then 50 lbs.

Stuffing a flat rate priority mail box is probably the cheapest way to ship some stuff.

I am thinking the same thing, though not to WDW we are going to visit family. We have to take two one way flights to reach the destination and I think shipping our clothes runs less risk of our stuff getting lost.
For me it is just DH and I needing 4 days worth of clothes so I estimated a 10 pound box and so far UPS is faster and USPS is cheaper (from vegas to chicago) and strangely Express Mail is a little cheaper than priority mail and is faster!?!?! For us it is ending up as such a narrow magin in terms of cost that shipping is probably best just for the peace of mind.
But since you will be at WDW the other thing to consider is shipping it all home, I don't know what shipping service WDW uses and if they will ship your clothes (I know they do souviners you buy there) so maybe try to find out how hard shipping everything home is goin to be.

Just be aware that there can be delays or packages can go missing if you ship the items. I can't tell you the number of times I have had that happen with FedEX and UPS.

My eldest son works for FedEx. I mentioned to him a few weeks ago that I was thinking about doing the same thing. He laughed and told me to pay the airline fees as there was no way even he could get it shipped for less. The airline fees are more reasonable.
