Is there anyone left on the boards that does the magnets for cruises? It's been a while and I'm making plans for a cruise with grandchildren.
I know there used to be a few but I'm not sure it's up and running anymore.
TIA

Thanks, I never thought of that. I also don't know if they even allow magnets on the doors anymore. We don't usually bother but since it's children coming I thought it would be nice.
Again, thanks. I'll pop over there.
I don't know why they wouldn't allow it. But, of course, anything can change once cruising starts up again.

I have my door decorations collected and ready for printing for three DCL cruises next year. Do all my own stuff and change most of it daily. Disney has so much material to draw on that I'll never run out of ideas. My grandkids think I am crazy...probably right. It is great fun for me and maybe for some of the folks that sail with us and the Mouse.

Oh, yeah, me too. I've made magnets for every cruise (well, except the first - I didn't know about it then).

I've only done it once, which was 6 years ago, when I took my grown children. Had different ones for different days and even though they were grown they loved it. Now that they are going with us again and there will be a 5 year old, I want to do it again.
I'm just not that talented that I can do this myself. Sad reality, lol.

Really doesn't take a lot of talent. Just find a picture or 2 (or 3, 4, or more) online and print it out on photo paper. Then put the printed picture on a adhesive magnetic sheet (you can get them at Michael's). Cut out the picture as you wish (shaped or plain rectangular cut) and there you've got it.

Give it a try, I have faith in you.

I gather graphics from all over. Print them on high quality glossy photo paper and then cut out. I then stick magnet strips on the back. I buy the roll of magnets that have one side sticky at the craft store or you can buy on Amazon. Try pinterest for graphic ideas and there is a huge Disney graphic community online on a certain social media site.

I even scanned a blank KTTW card and made a graphic out of it and added our names and enlarged it. Also took a screen shot of our countdown calendar on the app and made a graphic out of it.

If you're wanting something personalized, they aren't hard to make at home. Download the Waltograph font (just google it and find a free one, then right click on the file to install it) and you can use Power Point (I think PrincessShmoo uses Word) to put text over top of any graphic. There are plenty of Disney clipart things you can download for free. You'll want the .png ones if you can get them, as you can put them on a background of your choice. Otherwise a .jpg is fine if you're not adding it on top of something else.

Or, just download the font and print your words on some colored cardstock and cut out the shapes. A Mickey head is really three circles put together, not hard.

One I made with just clipart and a background:

That was a background with the Mickey Head .png outline placed on top (in PowerPoint) and then Cinderella .png placed on top of that. Then I added the text using "wordart" feature in PP and angled it. Very easy.

Sorry. I must have gotten that mixed up. :)
That's OK, It doesn't really matter. I was just saying "use what works for you".

In reality, I had no clue as to how to make magnets, or any such things, until I started playing around with various options. Now, my husband can't stop me.......:teeth: In fact, until I married him, I had no clue about how computers worked. Well, I still don't, but I learned how to use them, especially since he told me I couldn't kill the computer (and, believe me, I've tried).

I make my own on snapfish or shutterfly teen bringone home and line them up on my refrigerator. Here are the ones that got I have more20201119_185011.jpg
