MagicBands listed twice for AP and resort stay?

Last year when we activated our APs I’m sure on MDE we only had 1 x MB order to do.

However, this year, using the same APs, I now have 2 options to order MBs - one listed next to our resort ressie, then a second listed below that as ‘Annual Passholder’.

Do I just choose one?

You can order both bands if you want them.

I order the AP one and keep it in my handbag in case I stop by. But the resort band will work for the AP also.

You only need one band. But some people like to have more than one color.

As far as function, and access to your AP, Fastpasses, opening your resort for, etc, ALL magic bands linked to you in MDE are identical (last year’s AP, this year’s AP, the resort room). The only time I’m aware it matters at all is when you play sorcerers of the magic kingdom, they do store the game with actual specific band ID.

In case you’re wondering why...

APs come with the option to order a band. But for the vast majority of people, that option shows up after your first trip with the AP.

So last year the band was because of your onsite stay.

Once you activated the AP the option to get that AP band (which is the same as the onsite band in terms of choices), you could do that. And now you have another onsite stay, which also includes a band.

You can reuse the band from last onsite stay, can order the AL band, can order the onsite stay band! Could do all or just one or in between. They are interchangeable for almost every function (except Sorceres as mentioned).
