MagicBand question: Don't want to ruin possible Christmas surprise

I woke up to an e-mail this morning saying that my MB would be available for pickup upon arrival at my resort. The only problem? I have no upcoming trip reservation.

I checked my credit card and my Disney account. There's no evidence of foul play, although I changed my PW anyway just to be safe. I also called Disney and they said that sometimes these e-mails go out by accident. It's an old trigger in the system. But it was listed as a separate, new MB in my account. I deactivated it just to be safe. The CM said everything should be fine since there was no other evidence of a reservation.

As if I would ever order a plain old grey MB and not have it sent to my house beforehand so I can wear it on the plane, but I digress...

But then a thought occurred to me. Would I get an e-mail like that if someone else made a Disney World reservation? I've never had MBs shipped to the resort before, only my home. So I don't know if the process is different.

I want to ask my family about it but I'm afraid of ruining some sort of Christmas surprise.

I know this is probably just wishful thinking and I've watched one too many Hallmark movies, but can anyone share some insight?

I don't think my sister has ever gotten any notification emails for shared reservations that I made.
