When I went in to customize our magic bands for our first trip with the baby, I notice that it is asking us to make one for him. He will be 9 months old - no ticket, no room key needed, definitely no charging privileges.... So, what is it for? Do I need to even bring it with us?

They send one to everyone on the reservation. He won't need it for anything. We're taking the one for our 2 year old even though it is nothing but decoration, because her big sister will have one

They sent one last year for our two year old too. He didn't need it or wear it anywhere. I looked at it more like a souvenir than anything.

Our 2 year old got one last year, and it opened the room door which she insisted on doing.

Of 6 trips for my son under aged 3 we were offered a magic band for him twice. I'm not sure why he received one on those 2 trips vs the others.

That's really weird. Everyone listed on the reservation is entitled to one.

OP, you'll be surprised at how many tiny babies will have them on their wrists. I think it's generally because older siblings want the babies to wear them.

I think it's cute when I see the kids wearing them! Even for no practical use it looks cute that the child has one too!

Why not get one? Pick a good color and match his onesies!
