DH, 2 DDs and IL's just returned from a Thanksgiving stay in a 2 BR at SSR. The resort was lovely, and we really enjoys the stay. My in-laws were blown away.

We had a very interesting thing happen to us on the night we checked in. We had arrived at the resort at about 1:00 p.m. to check in, and I was expecting to head right to the pool while we waited for the room to be ready. Amazingly enough, the room (actually, rooms 2245 and 2247) was ready for us. I need to buy a couple of park tickets for the in-laws, so that took a bit of extra time, but then we were off to settle in. After an afternoon at the pool (lovely, but I agree with other posters that it may be too small once the resort is completed) and dinner in the room, there was a knock on the door. I opened the door, and there was a CM with a gift basket full of goodies! The card on the basket said simply "Have a magical stay!" I'm really not sure why we received this, but my girls were thrilled with the enclosed Mickey ears (my older DH never took them off the entire trip) and autograph books. The basket also contained a lovely photo album and some character cookies.

The next bit of pixie dust came a few days later when DH left one of our Park Hoppers at a Fast Pass kiosk in the Animal Kingdom. He was devastated, as there were several unused days left on the pass. I sent him to Guest Relations, and they were able to determine which pass was lost, and how many days were left by looking at the serial number on the pass that he still had. The replaced the pass immediately! My piece of advice for anyone buying Park Hoppers is to write down the serial number of the pass on a separate piece of paper that you keep in a different location from the passes, in case anything like this ever happens to you.

These things are why we love Disney and why we keep going back!!!

Sounds like a magical trip! Thanks for the report!

Thanks for the Great SSR Report!!

How were the decorations?

Cant wait to spend Christmas there!

Sounds like a very magical trip!!! You haven't found out if a family member or friend sent the basket to you? I remember a post not long ago where the family got a basket in error and it caused some upset :earseek: Glad your DD's loved it so much and y'all had a great time :wizard:

Thanks for the happy report!

It sounds like you had a wonderful trip! I'm glad you enjoyed SSR so much and that you were able to recover you PH!

Well, the only family that even knew we were at the resort were there with us. I certainly hope that we did not get a basket that was intended for some other family!!! I checked the card as closely as I could, and did not find any kind of identification of the sender. The card was definitely addressed to me. I did send MS a thank you note this morning. It will be interesting to see what kind of response I get.

Liferbabe, the decorations were lovely! I hope that you enjoy your upcoming stay.

I agree about the lost passes. My dad lost 2, 6 day PHP's last year before we had even used them at all. Luckily I had photocopied the backs of all our tickets. I usually make a couple of copies, one to put in my backpack, and in the suitcase, just in case I loose the backpack somewhere. He discovered that he had lost them just before our dinner on the night we arrived. I wish that we had gone right them to the front gate of a park and replaced them. I told him it was "probably" not going to be a problem, but I could tell, he did not enjoy dinner that night, he was really upset about it. We went to AK on Monday morning and I handed the CM my copies, and he replaced the tickets within about 45 seconds, I was sooo relieved as was my Dad. They wouldn't of had the money to replace them. I'm so glad that they were able to fix the problem for you too. Glad you had a good trip. We are trying out an SSR 2 bedroom with my parents this trip in Feb. I hope we get a nice basket too!!(Just Kidding!)

Well, it certainly was yours because the card was addressed to you! :sunny: That would be a very clear sign. So you still have a lovely mystery. Do you think your inlaws did it on the sly to show their appreciation? Maybe your Disney guide did it as a surprise :earboy2: If you find out, I'd love to know :D
