Magical Memories, Creativity & Crafting, Obsessive Planning, Gluten-Free-Nov 2011 PTR

Love the night light! Definitely want to go see if they still have them. Thanks for sharing :)

Sorry for the lack of updates lately, summer gets so busy. Just got back from camping for a week. We also had a Aladdin movie night I have to get posted, too.

I've been waiting for the stuffed Mickey & Minnie dolls to go on sale at Disneystore.com, and finally purchased the 17" ones. I'm trying to decide if I am going to place these in the kid's airplane backpacks or in the hotel room on the first day. Not sure yet.

It doesn't make that much difference when I give the kids them, but if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them. I am also going to be leaving them a small gift from a character everyday and wasn't sure if these should be left from Mickey on arrival day.

I also purchased myself three shirts for the trip and a Mickey and Minnie nightgown for my little girl. I can't find pictures of these online, though. Think they are gone off Disney Stores site.

Joining in! Can't believer I missed your PTR until now. Wonderful movie nights! :thumbsup2 Looking forward to seeing the Aladdin one.

Aladdin is one of my favorite Disney movies... can't wait to see your movie night!

I think having the plushes in the room as a way to "welcome" the kids is a great idea!

I think I may be leaning that way. Thanks for your input! :goodvibes

As I have mentioned previously I am going to cover all of the countries of Epcot's World Showcase over the summer with my kids. Our first country was Mexico.

I'm cruel and torture my husband. :lmao: I had him dress as a Mexican and welcome the kids to Mexico. I had decorated their art room with Mexico's colors, flags, etc. I had our laptop playing the Mexican hat dance song with the Mexican flag showing. The kids were given a Mexican flag and had their passports stamped. (I printed out all the countries flags and cut them out and used them as "stamps" in the passports.)

First thing I had the kids do was color a sheet that had the Mexican flag on it. It also had Mickey dressed in traditional Mexican clothing, the country of Mexico, and how to say Hello and Thank You in spanish. (I found these on the Creative DISign board.)

Throughout the week we spent lots of time reading books, watching a couple of videos from the library, doing online Mexican activities, watching videos on youtube (favorite was the Mexican hat dance), did our own Mexican hat dance around our sombero, and completed lots of crafts. We also learned how to say hello, good-bye, thank you and Mickey Mouse in spanish.

Here are some of the crafts:

Thank you Candace, that is very sweet of you. :cloud9: (I was wondering why you don't have your PTR link in your siggie anymore. Do you still have one?)

How fun! I can't wait to see what you do for the other countries!

And I am totally going to keep in mind "Aztec pottery" for the next rainy-day activity!

You are so creative as usual! Love the whole Mexican theme week, I'm sure you guys had a blast doing everything!

You are so creative! I want to "borrow" all of your ideas... but I have no kids. Maybe my husband will appreciate it? :rotfl:

I purchased two of these pairs of earrings for my daughter and I to wear during our trip. They are really cute, very dainty and not overly "Mickey".
