Magical Memories, Creativity & Crafting, Obsessive Planning, Gluten-Free-Nov 2011 PTR

Thanks so much, Davebon23!! That comment means a lot to me.

My son in particular is really enjoying watching the History Channel Disney World DVD we borrowed from the library. It may be weird that we all enjoy it so much, but it is so full of cool info. We have read tons of books and it is really cool to see video covering many of those same things. One of my favorites is how the imagineer came up with how to make Soarin work using his old erector set.

, excited to have a cupcake!! (I've made my own, but it's always fun to be able to eat something you don't have to make yourself.)

Exactly!! A cupcake eaten out with all that perfect frosting. YUMMMM!!!
Kari, it isn't weird. My DH and I just watched a show about Disney DVC. Kinda like an infomercial, Just because it had Disney in it:rotfl:
We also like watching the shows about the behind the scenes. I don't remember what they were called, the ones we watched, but it really was fascinating. Anything on Discovery or Travel channel, we watch it. I don't remember catching any on the History channel. I'll have to make a point to watch.

Oh, but I do remember seeing the guy with the erector set for Soarin' so maybe I did see it on the History Channel. IDK

Loving your movie night post Kari! I'm going to have to try something like this for my kiddos :) Can't wait for DS to be out of school for the summer so we have more time for things like this!

The second Disney movie night we did was Lady & The Tramp. We are staying at Pop Century where the kids will see the icons and also are planning on eating on Tony's Town Square Restaurant. I posted about this movie night on another thread so here are the two links...

Love it!! You've inspired me to do a Disney themed Easter party for my kiddos tomorrow night!! I'll take lots of pics and post them :)

Awesome PTR! We're going in just over 2 weeks and two of our party are Gluten Free! You're super creative and your uses of the cricut make me want one!

Thanks Candace, can't wait to hear/see about your movie night!!

Thanks Moonies, I'd love to hear about your gluten free dining experiences when you get back. Hope you have a fabulous trip!!

Immediately after finding out we were going to Disney my kids wanted to play airport. We got out our little suitcases and they started pretending right away. I had planned on playing airport with them sometime so we could go over what it will be like (security, baggage claim, plane, etc.), but I just didn't plan on doing it immediately. So the next day I quickly made up airline tickets, luggage tags and passports (because my son wanted them). They had a great time playing with these and we plan on having more airport play days with a better set up.

Airline Tickets - I made two for each of us. Going down to Florida and one for coming home.

I used this free site to make the tickets.

Luggage Tags: I found a luggage ticket image using google and changed it to our information. I glued on velcro dots to each end of the tag so the kids could use them over and over.

Passports: I just searched the internet and found a free printable pretend passport and wrote in my kids information and added their picture.

I laminated all of the items so that the kids can play with over and over.

Wow, that's some amazing creativity! You're kids are so lucky, heck, I'm 31 and I'm jealous of them! :lmao:

I think I'm stealing these ideas for one day when I have kids.:goodvibes

Your Movie nights are so adorable!! Your kids look like they are really enjoying it. Great designing!!:thumbsup2

Love your Snow White Disney night Kari! It makes me wish my kids were younger! We're having a great time with our Disney Days, but I have to modify stuff b/c my dd is older now...wah! They grow up so fast!!!

I am planning on filling up a backpack for each of the kids for the plane ride. I will give them to the kids at the airport or on the airplane. Here are some of the items I purchased so far to fill them.

Little puzzles. Found tons of 24 piece puzzles, but those were too easy. Was happy to find these ones instead. I know this might not be a great activity for the plane, but they can always do them in the hotel too. (Left one for my little girl and the right one for my son.)

I am also in the middle of making them each an activity/game booklet. Plan on purchasing Mickey & Minnie plushes from the Disney Store, but am waiting for a good sale. I will also be adding snacks with cute Disney toppers (also from designers on the Disboards).

So lots more ideas and items to add, but this is what I've gotten so far. Any other ideas I should include?

Sorry Karen, I should have included that info, but totally forgot. The puzzles and coloring books were from The Dollar Tree, Mickey headbands and lanyards from Party City (lanyards were only $1, so excited), Look & Find Books from Target (clearanced at $5), card games from Michaels, books from local dollar store, and activity pads from Walgreens. :cool1:
