Magical Gatherings software application is available on WDW website...

Last week I booked a Grand Gatherings group vacation for next year. While I was on the telephone with the Magical Gatherings folks, they told me that Disney would be releasing their new vacation planning software application on October 15th. I was just on the official WDW website and saw that the link is finally active. So for anyone who is planning a Magical or Grand Gatherings vacation, you may download the new software application now: click here for Disney's main Magical Gatherings webpage (the link for the vacation planner is on that webpage).

I downloaded the Magical Gatherings software application yesterday when it went live and so did another Dis'er who is joining my Grand Gatherings vacation party next year. There is one more Dis'er in our group who should be downloading the software application this weekend. I can't wait until everyone in our group has the software because then we can begin officially planning. The hard part of all this will be waiting until we can book a few of the Grand Gatherings Experiences. We're particularly interested in the Magical Fireworks Voyage, the International Storybook Dinner, and the Safari Celebration Dinner. They sound special and will make our group vacation unique and memorable.

has anyone actually used this? I downloaded it, but when I enter my login/password, it either tells me it can verify my login, or just hangs there in limbo forever.

I've tried it numerous times, and always nothing....

????

I too have had trouble with this. I was able to create a couple of polls, but everything else seems very complicated.

An hour later - and I had a really great woman learning with me from the Disney-end - she called her guest services, IT, etc etc and the final answer (drum roll please) - try resetting my password. Although I could get into the main site fine perhaps issue with the planner connection for what ever reason?? - anyway it worked. So if you experience the same issue try updating your existing password on the main site and then try Magic Gathering Planner again.

Ryansmom, when you find a moment, please look through the on-line Help pages. I know that when I first downloaded the software application, I had no idea what to do with it. I started reading through the on-line help, and then I began playing with the software. Doing that helped me a lot. If you have any particular questions about the software, please post them here or PM me. I'll try to help if I can.

I can't get it to work.

I was able to download it, but when I type in my password I get an invalid message. If the password worked for me to do the down load, why won't it work now?

how you do you get the countdown timer to work? Does it make a difference if we did not book our vacation through 'Grand Gatherings'?
Whenever I click on the 'Online Help' nothing happens. Maybe I have to delete the whole thing and re-download it.

Well, I downloaded it on my other computer and got the 'Online help' to come up and also found the countdown.
Yeah!

Disneyjunkie & Ryansmom, you folks are great -- I stay away from the Dis for a few days and by the time I've returned, you have the software application up & running on your own. Dang, but you're good!

Since this is the Resorts Board (and my favorite place to hang out at on the 'net), the one thing that I hope Disney adds soon to the new software application is resort information. Of course, I also want restaurant & recreation information. If/when those pieces get added in, I will be able to really go to town with the planning of my upcoming Grand Gatherings vacation.
