This is the crew of our "Magical Gathering". It will get confusing. Sorry!
We park in long term parking at DFW. When we get on the shuttle both DD's start a conversation with the driver. They told her everything about the trip, where we live, what school they go to, about my labor with DS. EVERYTHING! I was glad to see that we still had a home to come back to with all of the information they gave out. (We have tried working on the sharing info bit but it seems that we need to work on it some more.)
DH informs me that he already has the boarding passed just to get in line at security. I trusted him. BIG MISTAKE! He had his and the twins passed but not mine and DS. Our flight was to take off in 40 mins and I had to get out of line to get our passes. I was not happy and nearly in tears. I was able to get them. (Yes I cut in line. People were angry but I was crying. I win!) The 1st security guard remembered me and let me catch up to DH. They were already at the Xray machine. Again people were not happy. "I guess that is one way to get by (sneer)". I just looked at him and said, "NO!, have your DH not get your and your DS boarding pass when the flight is going to leave." "Oh, you go first. I would hate to be your DH right about now." "Yes, you would."
We get on the plane with moments to spare. This is when I notice little "Eva". She has a crusty, snotty face, and no shoes. She is about 2 yo. The flight wasn't smooth at all except for the last 20 mins. The seat belt sign was on the entire time. Except for little Eva. She was climbing over, under, and almost thru the seats. The flight attendent had to tell her parents that she really needing to be buckled for her safety. When little Eva cried, mom just pulled her shirt down and breastfed. I have no problem with this but she didn't cover up and it was just on her right side for almost the entire two hours. When she wasn't feeding, little Eva was climbing. UGH! How her right side wasn't dragging on the floor I'll never know. I want one of those bras!
DS laughed whenever the plane bounced. He was laughing so much I know that his diaper weighed at least 7 lbs when we landed. He finally fell asleep 30 mins before we landed. He was punch drunk the rest of the day.
We landed approx. 3:30 local. We got a car from Avis. DH uses them whenever he travels so he got a good deal. I laughed when we got to the car. It was white. It was the only white car in the lot. The rest were different colors. Why couldn't we get one of those?
We got on the road to Orlando. 59 miles away. One hour driving EXCEPT the traffic was nuts. DH compared it to LA. Construction and beginning rush hour was just perfect. It took us 2 hours to get to Pop Century. By then, everyone in the car was stir crazy. "How much further? how come we aren't there yet? I bet mommy can get us there faster. Do you know where we are going daddy? I'm hungry! Can we eat soon? Are we still in Florida?"
As we pull up to security at Pop Century, DH shows his id and said that we are checking in for the night. Securtiy says "I don't have you but I have a Ms mt2." I lean over and yell, "That's me!" "Okay then, proceed." "Thanks Art, have a nice night." this messes up DD's bad. "Mom, how did you know his name? I didn't hear him say it. PLEASE tell us! How did she know dad?" All of these questions were fired at me in less then 20 seconds (several times).
I just screamed at the top of my lungs a primal scream. You know the one. When you are in labor and no one cares. No meds are given. Everyone around you just stares at you. That kind of scream. I then take a breath and yell again, "Stop this car anywhere! Everyone get out of this car NOW! I don't care that a bus is right behind us! GET OUT OF THIS CAR NOW!" DH pulls into the first parking spot he sees and I jump out. FREEDOM!!
DH goes to check us in and I take the kids to the shop/food area. They want to buy everything in sight. Not happening today. Wait until tomorrow. We get our room and go back to eat. The kids need showers but we head to DD to walk around and let them run. I try to shop but everyone is cranky.
We head back to the room for much needed showers and bed. I take the car and got to 4 resorts to get the pressed pennies that I'm missing. This is an obsession of mine. Just a small one to me but an annoyance to DH.
I try to call a friend that works there but I can't get ahold of her. I wanted to try later but it never happened. Sorry!
I'm in bed by midnight but can't sleep. I can't wait to go to the parks and meet everyone at the WL. The last time I look at the clock it is 2am.
