A co-worker will be leaving on Thursday and his family is using the Magical Express shuttle. Has anyone used it recently who could tell me how long it took for your luggage to get to your hotel and if you experienced any problems with the service?

We used the ME service in February and our luggage was delivered to our rooms within 1.5 hours of check-in. I think it just depends on how busy the bellman are when you check-in. It was smooth sailing though!

We used ME in Sept 05 and had no problem. We had our bags in our room w/in the hour.

The wait time can vary from as little as 1.5 hours to as long as 5 hours after you land, for your bags to arrive at your room. Disney calculates the wait time from when you check in with Magical Express and ends when your baggage arrives at your hotel. Last October we arrived at MCO at 6:30 PM and our bags arrived at our room at Midnight. We were told that bell service was extremely overwhelmed that night. Last January we arrived at 11:30 am, went to play golf and everything was there when we returned. It was very smooth. The best advice is to bring a travel bag with you that has the things you need right away. I'm flying in again this May and will be arriving again around 6:30, I'll bring my clothes for the overnight with me.
By the way, the return trip is great, drop your bags off in the morning, and you don't see them again until you arrive at your home airport.

My DH and I would like to bring carry-ons for our next trip. I read that you can bring your luggage one the bus, is there enough room?

Ninahbear!! Yes we used the Magical Express last August with North West Airlines and had NO Problems at all. It was the Best Service Ever.

It is a regular bus with under-neath storage. We got our luggage last May because it was the first month of ME and we never got the tags. We had no problem at all with 3 regular size luggage pieces.

I look forward to letting them get my bags this year!

We are going to use the Magical Express the second weekend of September and was wondering what the time frame usually is from landing to getting to your hotel room?

Thanks for any input.

We used ME on 2/28/06 and were completely surprised at the speed...we were at our resort(POR) within 55 minutes of our flight's arrival at MCO. Of course this will depend on the number of other guests arriving at the same time, but given the alternative(hauling your own luggage, waiting for rental car or other transport, etc) any wait time for ME is immaterial.

The service was very streamlined...one person from your party checks in at the main counter(similar to car rental), then your group is referred to a line for your particular resort. We basically walked thru the ropes to a bus, waited about 5 minutes for addl passengers and we were off... :thumbsup2

FYI: this was a last minute trip planned 10 days out so we did not receive the yellow luggage tags prior to departure. It did not matter, however, since I only had to give our airline "checked bag tags" to the ME counter CM along with a description of each bag and they took care of moving them. Not sure how long the bag transfer took, since we headed straight for the parks as soon as we checked in.

I was so glad to read the ME service will continue for another 5 years...even if they eventually decide to charge a fee I will happily pay it! :cool1:

We just used ME last week. Getting to the CR took about an hour from getting off the plane and getting to the resort. We got in about 8pm and were not sure what to do about our luggage, whether to get it ourselves, or let ME do it. We let them get the bags. At 10:30 we wanted to go to sleep because we wanted to be at the MK at 7 the next morning, so we called bell services and asked them to hold our bags until the next morning. We had packed stuff for the following day in our carry on, so we did not need the luggage. About midnight there was a knock on the door and there was our luggage. They claimed not to have been told to hold the bags. That was the only problem we had with the service.

I'm booking my parents in for this for September because we are coming in from the UK and they are coming in from Maine a few hours earlier. I am really glad that everyone seems to have such good experiences with it. I really like the idea of them not having to handle their bags.
