I will be arriving on a Friday during spring break around 4:30pm with my young son. We have a 6 hour flight to MCO and I expect we will both be very much done with traveling. I've heard because Contemporary is so close to MK, it is pretty much always the last resort on the bus. I'm worried about 2+ hour trip after our long flight and am considering taxi or private car.

Is it true Contemporary is usually last? How long should I expect? I've read 70 minutes is average but I assume that number factors in first and second drop offs and I'd like to get a sense of the average time from getting off the plane to arriving at the last resort. Thanks!

Average total time from stepping into the terminal to stepping off the DME bus is 70-90 minutes. There are also no set routes - routing depends on need - and Contemporary being near MK (or any resort being near anything) has ZERO effect on which stop it is for DME.

Interesting. All the reports I kept reading from people going to/from Contemporary always said it was last on the way there and first on the way back to the airport. I guess I will give it a try and hope for a first stop going there.

When we stayed there in October it was the last stop. We actually got off at the Poly and hopped on the monorail and got there faster(we were meeting my CP daughter there and she had a very limited window before she had to go to work). But we didn't have kids or their stuff with us.

Ditto what Daisy said...we got off at the Poly and rode the monorail....beat ME to BLT.

When you got off ME at the poly, did you tell the driver or did you just get off? I'm going to do this in May because the resort stops were unbearable!

We are going to CR (in <30 days!!) and were considering the private car option. We're already collecting our bags, why not!

When I go alone with our two kids (DH stays home), I don't hesitate to pay for a taxi or town car from MCO to the resort if even potential ME delays would be an issue that trip. I think its around $60 for some, which is short $ in comparison to the total trip cost (but makes a big difference in the tone of the overall trip, I think).

You don't need to tell you driver anything unless you put bags on the ME bus.

Yes, he put our carry on bag in the contemporary section of the bus and was a little confused when we told him we were getting off at the Poly. But we always tip our ME driver so he got over it. :)

Wow, all these people getting off at Poly and getting to Contemporary are making me rethink ME! We are just doing WDW for 2 nights before a Disney Cruise and I don't want to waste any time on the bus, especially after a long flight! Thanks to everyone for their input - now leaning back to private car.
