Magical Express Timing question

We are going in May and staying at the Contemporary. I have used Magical Express once before without any problem. I think it took us about 90 minutes from the time we landed until the time we got to the hotel. I am not sure though if that is typical. For our next trip, we land at 7 pm. I have made 9 pm reservations at Chef Mickeys. Is that cutting it too close? Am I allowed to save time by letting my luggage go with magical express but take another mode of transportation myself just to save time? Any words of wisdom?

You won't be able to 'save time' by having DME take your luggage while you take a towncar or taxi. No one is absolutely sure as to what happens to luggage if the owner doesn't ride DME bus. So...
If you land at 7, you should be at the CR by 8:30ish. It has taken me about 70 mins average to get to my resort after deplaning. Only one time did it take me closer to 90 mins. and that was when I was the last of three resort stops. So, two hours should be no problem. When you get to CR, you could have one adult check you all in, and the rest of the family heads right to Chef Mickey's.
