Question about the Magical Express. A friend of my husband is renting some of my points and he's planning on flying in late the night before his DVC reservation begins. On this night they're staying at a hotel near the airport. Here's my question, will they still be able to ride the magical express the next morning after their night in a airport hotel? Plus, how would I fill out their reservation form, should I leave the arriving airline blank or should I put the airline from the night before. This is a new one for me. Thanks for your help.

Find a flight that arrives that morning and use it on the reservation.

Yes. A few weeks ago we flew in on a Saturday, stayed overnight at the Hyatt MCO and then took DME to Our WDw resort the next day. My DD and I left super early (I told DME my "flight" arrived at 6am) and my DH and DS left later at 10am. No issues scanning our magic bands and boarding our bus. The 6am bus was empty and we got a private bus ride to our resort :) And made it in enough time to rope drop Animal Kingdom and walk on to Flight of Passage!!!

For your friend, he would have to shuttle from his airport hotel back to the airport and then ride DME. I had considered doing that originally before ending up at the Hyatt MCO for convenience. Tell him to make sure he checks how his hotel schedules airport shuttles. Is it 24 hrs in demand or is it scheduled (ie less flexibility)?

Yes. All resort guests are entitled to use DME for a trip from MCO to your resort and a trip from the resort to MCO. Those trips must be within the dates of the reservation. The flight info they ask for on the form is only there for DME's scheduling purposes. You can, but don't need to use fictitious flights. If your situation doesn't fit the norm, it's simpler to just call them and tell them when you want to get on the bus. Going from MCO to the resort, it really doesn't matter at all. You can just show up (even without a DME reservation) and they'll take care of you.

Planning our very first trip out there and was about to ask exactly the same question before I saw this thread so thank's for the info!

This is a very popular question, actually! A few people have asked it in the past couple weeks.
