Magical Express Question

Hi everyone
We are using ME for the first time (usually pick a car up at the airport)
Now my understanding is that US guests get ME luggage tags in advance but UK guests don't - is that correct?
I have a printed email confirmation, do I just head to the ME desk with that?

Hi

For the UK guests you collect your bags and take them with you to the ME desk.

When you get your mickey mail there should be a voucher in there for the ME which you hand over at the desk. If you don't have one for whatever reason just hand over the email and they should find you from there.

You can ask for them to collect your bags from the second carousel and have them delivered to your room. We personally just find that once we get to MCO all we want to do is get to our room unpack and sleep. We would rather not have to wait for our bags to get to our room which can be upwards of 3 hours depending on time of year.

Disney will hang a notice on your room door on the day before you leave telling you what time your bus is picking you up. This time will be around 4 hours before your return flight time.

Thanks, this is very helpful. We're using ME for the first time ourselves in a little under 2 weeks & was unsure what the differences would be for us flying in from the UK.

DH always laughs at me when I print of every confirmation email I have even though we get mickey mail. Just to make sure it all matches up and that I have a double confirmation. Just print off copies of your confirmation and if you are really worried call a couple of days before you go and make sure that your details are recorded for the ME.

On a further note, The time for you to return is the bus you have to take. Disney work our how many people per bus they are going to collect for each specific time.
I know it seems like 4 hours is long time but believe me if there was an accident on the road/ construction you need the time to get to the airport. Plus it can take a while to get through the security and those lines can be long. I have heard of people throwing hissy fits at the ME bus driver on the retrurn as they missed/ choose to miss their pick up time. So allow yourselves about 45mins before pick up to be at your stop so you can collect your bags and make sure that you have every thing and every body. We normally get up early put the bags to bell services and hit a park. Making sure that we give ourselves time to get back to the resort.
We have found that we have time at the airport to grab some food and have a look around the shops.

Hi can you not pick your time when going home on the ME?? I always thought as there was so many that you could choose one nearer to the flight time!
Do you need 4 hours? we will be flying with Virgin and seats are pre booked also Virgin have told us that beacause we have a ASD child and REG disabled mother that we would be able to check in with the Pre economy check in and also be escorted through to the departure lounge so is 4 hours needed? or do you have to be there a set time before anyways

They will tell you what time the pick up is - there are lots but they manage the loads. However security at Orlando can be slow even with an escort.

We will actually have a car to drive ourselves back to the airport at the end of our trip

I called DVC just to double check that we were all booked for ME upon arrival and I am so they said not to worry about getting anything through the mail. I just need to make myself know at the ME desk

As I said in my post above yours they give you four hours to allow plenty of time to get to the airport etc. Traffic can be heavy etc. Also you might not be the last pick up point you might be the first so you still have to go around the other resorts to collect other people and if there are lots of people waiting it can take time to get everyone sorted.

I see your point about the escort with your family. You can request a later pick up time but it won't be much different to 4 hours. Check in for international flights is 3 hours before departure. You will still need to get your boarding cards and drop off your bags unless you do the drop off at DTD. We have never flown with Virgin so I am not sure how that works.
