Mods, please move post if it's not posted in the right place.

For some reason I remember that when you use the Magical express they deliver your luggage to your room instead of you lugging it yourself. Is this correct?

My mom is joining us on this trip and her flight comes pretty late. We have dinner ADRs at Ohana and every minute counts for her to be able to join us. I'm wondering if she has to put her luggage in the room at POP and then make the trip to Poly from there. Or could she put her stuff on the POP bus and then take the Poly bus? DH will have a car, so we can always get her from the airport if necessary, but if there is another way, that would be great.

I don't think you can do that. She would have to claim her luggage when getting off the Magical Express bus at POP. The luggage would be delivered to her room, if it wasn't ready upon checkin and she gave it to the bellman. I went to parks when my room wasn't ready - came back checked in and the luggage was already in my room. I would check with POP but I am thinking no. Good Luck.

Doesn't work that way ....

If you let DME handle your luggage for you, then you never see it until it is inside your room (it gets delivered there whether you're in there or not, as long as you've already checked-in). You skip baggage claim. Your bags never make it to the baggage claim carousel. The luggage gets delivered by special truck.

Everyone has the option of waiting at baggage claim and getting their bags themselves. This takes longer. After you get your bags, you lug them to the DME counter, then the driver loads them under the bus, then you get them back as soon as you're dropped off at the resort. Like I said, if time is of the essence, then this is exactly what NOT to do.

Aristomommy, here's what you don't want to hear .... you can only take a DME bus to/from the resort where you're a registered guest. So in other words, she can't take a DME bus from the airport to Polynesian. Well, there's always the off-chance that her Pop-bound bus will also stop at Poly, but I wouldn't count on that. SO if she takes DME, she will be driven to Pop. If seconds count, it'll be faster for her to be picked up from the airport and delivered directly to Polynesian, whether it's by you or a car service or taxi or whatever.
