Magical Express question - ride to the airport when I'm not leaving

I have a trip coming this October that's taken a weird turn in the planning.

I'll be down 10/10-10/18, but my kids and sister will be with me until the 14th when my best college friends arrive for an adults only F&W trip. They will be two totally separate reservations (one is booked under someone else's name).

I'd like to go to the airport with my sister and kids to see them off and say goodbye at the last possible moment. We are planning to stay on property and are NOT planning to have a vehicle.

Would I be able to ride Magical Express to the airport with my sister and kids and then hop a bus back after I see them through security? I'd rather not pay for a cab but I will either do that or consider renting a car if I have to. I'm nervous enough about the kids flying without a parent. (I totally trust my sister, but I'll be antsy until they land no matter what.)

I'm a little confused. Are you saying that you're staying on 2 separate reservations (one for when your kids and sister are there and one for when your college friends are there)? If that's the case, then you should be able to do what you're proposing, since each reservation entitles you to one round trip on DME, and you would end up doing two round trips.

Yes, two separate reservations.

One is a DVC stay that's already been booked, and the other one is just in the very early planning stages right now.

Does the extra round of DME trips take place on your resort-changing day? The 14th is that day?

If so, that means it will work fine.

When you initially get there, you take DME to WDW under that first reservation. Then you go back to teh airport on checkout day from that first reservation. Take it back to WDW under the second reservation that, I assume, starts that same day. And then at the end of the grownups trip you take DME to the airport.


Assuming all of that is right, it will work.

I personally would rather make the arrangements online here, rather than explaining it to a CM.
