Hi there!
My family and my aunts family are both going down to disney on the 24th. We have separate flights, but are arriving around the same time, within 20 minutes. We are making plans to wait for each other. But I was wondering if the magical express shares buses between resorts? I am staying at art of animation, but she is staying at Pop Century. We would like to be on the same bus, if possible, but I'm not sure if that is possible. If not, is there possibility that she can go on the Art of Animation bus with us, and then we walk to pop century?

You can be on the same bus if you meet up and get into the Magical Express queue together. The Magical Express route for Pop and AoA is on the same bus along with potential stops at other resorts such as Carribbean Beach.

Just be aware that there are no set routes for the DME buses. They are dispatched and routed according to the needs at the time which can (and do) vary. Since POP and AoA are so close to each other, it is likely that you would all be on the same DME bus, but it's not a 100% sure thing.

I can say I stay at POR every year and arrive at a very busy check-out time.

In ten trips, only half of them have I ridden with POFQ and they are right next door within walking distance.

I have been on a bus with OKW and SSR; BC/BW/YC twice in a row, etc.

There is no guarantee you will be on the same bus, even if the resorts are that close together.

As the PP's have noted, you could be on the same bus. To maximize your chances (since you are flying separately) plan to meet up with your aunt's family just outside of the DME welcome center at MCO. When everybody is there, then go ahead to the DME checkin.

The OP also asked that if they didn't share busses, could one of them ride to the other resort on DME and then walk over to their own resort. The answer to this is no. DME will only take you to the resort you are staying at.

This is true, but it has been our experience (we stay at POP) that ever since they have opened AoA, they put them on the same bus. what stinks IMO is that whenever we previously used ME, POP was always the first stop. Now AoA is the first stop and POP is the second as they would have to drive by AoA to make POP the first stop! But luckily on our trips the stop has only been between 5 & 10 min and it only takes about 2 min to get to POP from AoA so it's not a huge deal but I did like POP being first. ;)
