Magical Express bus involved in accident by airport

Looks like a ME or Disney Cruise bus. Aren't they really owned by Mears? I hope everyone is OK.

It is a Mears bus but of course the news is reporting it as a Disney bus. They should be saying it is a Magical Express bus.

Bus was headed to airport. 5 people taken to hospital, rest were taken to the airport.

I think the disboards should make another discussion category just for bus collisions. Seems like they are happening with increasing frequency.

Sad to hear this happened. Certainly not the way I'd want to windup my Disney vacation.

I predict a lawsuit coming on - no matter which driver was at fault. Maybe we need a separate Disney lawsuit section...

For as many busses as Disney and Mears runs around property (approx 175) and the ME busses I'm amazed there aren't a few more accidents.

Despite this and previous accidents I think their record is pretty good considering the amount of busses and miles they cover on a daily basis. The public expects perfection and I just can't see how that is possible considering the numbers. Just my 2 cents.

I agree. Things like this happen in many large cities but it doesn't get the coverage that Disney gets.

I totally agree. It seems like alot because it's Disney and it gets alot of press, but when you think about it their record is pretty good. I've never worried about riding a Disney bus.

I've always felt safe on Disney busses.

Well, from the photos, it's *definitely* a Magical Express bus. And apparently, the bus driver has 2 previous incidents of "failure to yield" citations.

So, really, the fault is Mears', but Disney needs to take some responsibility, because they *are* the ones that chose to contract with Mears.
