We are thinking about taking a flight that arrives in Orlando at 9:40 pm. This is within the Magical Express baggage hours, but kind of sort of close to the cutoff. Has anyone had any experience using the Magical Express baggage feature this late at night. Does the baggage come that night, or the next morning?

Yes it will come To u but it will be after midnight sometime. If u don't want it to come to your room that late you can tell the front desk and bell services will hold it for you then you can call in the am to have it sent to your room. Or you can go to baggage claim an pick it up yourself but remember don't use your magic express tags!! We always opt to get our luggage when we fly in this late it doesn't take too long

I would never use the ME luggage service that late at night...it just wouldn't be worth the hassle to me. The last time we were at Disney, our luggage didn't arrive until 9 hours after we landed--7 hours after we checked in, and we had a morning arrival. Ask yourself if not having to handle your own luggage is really worth potentially not receiving it until the next day.

I'd actually plan on my luggage not getting there until the next morning. Seasoned travelers know to put one night's worth of clothing and other necessities in their carryon, just in case the airline "mis-directs" their luggage. When you check in, go to bell services and tell them to hold your bags until the morning. When you get to your room, put the do no disturb sign out.

The next morning you can call bell services and ask them to deliver your checked bags.

We usually pack two or three days worth of clothes for each person in our two carry-on bags. We do it more out of paranoia than anything else. It is easier to do with summer clothes, since they are less bulky.

As a guy, I would just need a toothbrush and deodorant for the morning. Well actually they are both optional if we are really being honest. I'd have to ask my wife if she would need to pack some essentials other than clothes. I suspect the answer to that is yes and an eye roll.

Has anyone had any experience with using the baggage service this late? Would bell services actually try to deliver the luggage in the middle of the night?

No after a certain time they won't deliver but ours came at 1am before! The next time we just got the luggage ourselves

I don't use DME for baggage delivery if I'm landing after 6pm! I just don't want the hassle of a late delivery. And a 9:40 arrival would be waaaaay too late for me...might not get bags until close to 1am! You can always tell Bell Services to hold the bags until the next morning, and the. Hang out the 'privacy please' hanger on your door overnight....just in case. But, I would rather just get the bags myself and bring them to the bus with me.

The previous posters have given some great advice. I just want to add that if your flight is delayed and arrives after 10pm (even by a minute), you will have to pick up your bags at baggage claim even if the ME tags are on them.

I don't know what airline the OP is flying. Southwest and DME are at opposites end of the airport. After getting your bags passengers have to "schlep" their bags up to level three, diagonally across the airport, down to level one then wait for a bus.

Reserve a car service and you'll be halfway to your resort in the length of time it take just to get to the DME area.

I'd probably let DME handle my luggage. I'd bring a change of clothing in my carryon bag.

Excellent point.
