I want to bring my neice a couple days earlier then her Mom is scheduled to join us. Can I increase my reservation with ME from four to five. We are staying in a studio room at the Saratoga Springs. Any suggestions?
You can go to the Mears counter at MCO and purchase her the one way trip. IIRC you can only do this at the airport the day of travel. Some have reported that the paid passengers rode the DME bus, others reported riding in a Mears passener van. (You probably could send her on DME with most of your party and have an adult ride if she is young).
The other option is to put her on your resort reservation if it doesn't put you over the maximum occupants. Also - if she is over 18 you will have to pay a nightly fee for a 3rd adult, I think its $25 at the deluxe and DVC.

DME is a direct fuction of resort reservations. If you aren't named on the resort reservation, you won't be permitted to board a DME bus. Disney is very strict about this.
Where is she going to sleep? if she can "officially " be in your room then it wouldn't be a problem you would just add her to your reservation. Where are her mother and her going to stay when the mom gets there? If they have another room reserved and she would put you over the limit then you will have a problem adding her.

UNLESS you purchase a Mears ticket at the time of arrival at MCO.
I did that just this past week. I walked all the way down just like I was going to DME and there is a Mears desk right next to DME. I purchased a one-way ticket for $20.00 and I was directed to the DME bus.
(The reason I did this is I had to go back home for a couple of days, and I had already used my free ride for that particular reservation.)

You are correct that you can't ride DME for free" unless you are on a resort reservation. However you can pay through mears at the airport and often end up on the DME bus.
Right ... I should've worded it that you can't ride DME for free, not that you can't board. Of course, if you pay for a Mears ticket you also don't have to power to decide for yourself that you'll ride a DME bus ... they'll decide for you. You can always ask, but they have the final word.
