Magical dust at disneyland.....

you know the commercials on TV right now with the magical dust coming down on the visiters to DL? Well my four year old thinks that will be happening when we go there. I was told they do it in DW does anyone know if DL does it at the gates? Tink dust?

I've never seen / heard of them showering guests with pixie dust but that would be awesome!!!

They do not do this at DL. At WDW the Magic Kingdom has an official park opening. The characters come out on a double decker bus and do a little song and dance at the mainstreet train station. There is a family that is chosen to open the park they do the count down with the characters and then throw pixy dust. This all starts about 15 minutes before park opening.

It can also happen on a case by case basis. When working at the CP at the Studios, one of my co-workers worked the front gates. When a child would walk through and she felt they needed a little bit of magic, she had mickey shaped confetti to throw in the air around them. Usually it was when the lines weren't as busy or when she was working as a greeter rather than actually at the turnstiles. The confetti was available to them by their manager, so it wasn't just something she did.
