Part 1
We flew into MCO Sept 7 am on Spirit. It was a cheap $88.00 round trip/ person flight. Security went smooth and rather quick Just make sure you follow the regulations. We left Detroit at 8:10 am and were at the CBR for 11:25am, thanks to DME. We thought the DME was easy and quick. It is quite a walk from Spirits gate, but after sitting on the plane for a couple of hours it was nice to get moving. By the way MCO is a beautiful airport, especially compared to Metro DTW. Our checkin at the Custom house went smooth and we got a preferred room upgrade when we mentioned it was our 10th Anniversary. We stayed in Jamaica 42, which was a bit of a walk from Old Port Royale and the bus stop. We didn't mind because it was so quite and we were close to the beach and Jamaica quite pool. it was just the 2 of us this trip so we didn't intend to use the main pool at all. As always the resort showed wonderful. It never fails, everytime we stay at the CBR we feel so relaxed and as if we were not even in Florida. Yes, it is a large resort, but it is so beautiful and scenic. The views are great and we love to stroll around the resort and check out the wildlife. It was quite humid that afternoon so we decided to go for a swim before lunch at the quite pool. Make sure you pack your suits in your carry on, our luggage did not show until around 4:00pm. There was no one at our quite pool so it was like having our own pool near our room. The water was refreshing, around 86 degrees. After our swim, we got changed and headed over to the bus stop to catch a bus to Downtown Disney for a Sandwich of Earl.
Part 2
The await for the bus was short and staying in Jamaica is nice because you are sure to get a seat being the first one picked up. Downtown Disney has been a tradition for us, a Full Monty at Earl of Sandwich, a free chocolate sample at G's, or more and a little shopping. We decided to take a walk to 535 Crossroads to get a few grocerys and drinks. It is a good 20 minute walk one way, but we needed beer, coolers and munchies for the weekend. After our quick shopping spree thru Goodings we headed back to DD. Remember not to buy to much, because you have to carry it back with you. It is worth it though.
It was almost 4:00pm so we headed back to the CBR to check for lugagge and get ready for dinner. When we got back to our room our luggage had arrived safe and sound. We had a drink and headed over to the Old Port Royale to check the out the shops and get our park tickets put on our keys to the world.
We had made dinner reservations at the GFR Narcoossee's for 8:15pm. We bussed over to Magic Kingdom transportation centre and then took the resort monorail over to the GF. This resort always amazes me. It's location is super and it has a great view of the lake and Magic Kingdom's fireworks. We strolled thru the lobby which is very impressive. The brass band was playing so we sat and listened for a few minutes. On our way over to Narcoossee's we stopped down at the Grand Floridian Cafe where we met up with Cinderella and Prince Charming. Since it was our 10th Anniversary trip, it seemed a bit romantic to see them together and made us feel that Disney magic warmth.
We checked in at Narcoossee's at 8:10 pm and had our table within 10 minutes. Our table was close to the window facing MK, perfect romantic setting. We enjoyed a couple glasses of wine with chilled shrimp for appetizers. We decided to eat light ordering each a Sea food chowder and Romaine salad instead of an entry. This made room for the dessert. They have the best almond cheesecake around. check our photos to view. By the time we had finished dessert the fireworks where almost ready to begin. So we made are way out to the deck and got a bench to cuddle on and watch Wishes. This display seems to always make you feel good inside. It was very enjoyable and nice to watch from a distance. NO CROWDS, and yet the full affect was felt. It was a great day and the start of excellent vacation. Part 3 to come.
