Hello,

I'm reserved for 4 restaurants on my stay at wilderness lodge this coming sept.

Our vacation package was the "silver package" which came with a bunch of stuff including something called magic wish points, which we spent a whole helluva lot on dining (and some parasailing and cirque du soleil :D)

Anyway, what I would like to know is exactly how these things work once we get to the park? Are we given something before hand to spend as a physical ticket, and the reservations simply made for our convenience?

Is it all taken care of already and since its been booked thru our travel agent as one of our magic wish expenditures the restaurant will know whats up?

What all does it include? entree? appetizer? dessert? gratuity? What does it not include?

Sorry if this has been addressed before, I tried looking for this question elsewhere on the forum but couldn't find anything...

thanks in advance :D

They're on your KTTW card. Just use it and tell them its a "magic wish" when youre cashing out.

As for selections, usually one appetizer, one entree, one dessert, drink, taxes and tip per person are included in a wish.

We always do DM-Silver.

Hi Sakko

I will do my best to try and answer your questions:

Firstly, when you check into your resort, your magical wishes will be placed on your room key.
Everytime you want to redeem one of your wishes you simply present your room key as payment, telling the CM that you are on the silver plan.

Even though your travel agent booked the parasailing and Cirque for you, you will still have to present your room key that contains the wishes as payment for them. I believe you will pick up your Cirque tickets at your resort front desk.Ask about them when you check in.

I assume you already know that you get 2 magical wishes per person, per night correct?

As far as the dining goes, here is what your magical wishes will get you:

Breakfast =
(1) Juice
(1) Breakfast Entree
(1) Coffee, Tea or Hot Chocolate
OR
1 Full Breakfast Buffet

Lunch/Dinner =
(1) Appetizer
(1) Entree
(1) Dessert
(1) Soda,juice,milk,smoothie,milkshake,coffee
or tea
OR
1 Full Buffet

Also, all applicable taxes and gratuities are included.
Alcoholic beverages ARE NOT included.

Remember that your adult wishes cost you 34.00 each and childrens wishes 21.50.
I always try and keep that in mind when booking restaurants, and look through their menus to make sure we will get our money's worth. As a general rule of thumb, a breakfast meal is not a good choice to choose to spend your wishes on.
You can view all of the WDW restaurant menus here:

This will be our third time using the silver plan.We really enjoy it, and probably would not do Disney any other way ;-)

You can also view and print out a brochure featuring all the silver plan guidelines here:

Disney's 2004 Silver Plan Add-on

Simply click the link under the picture to print the brochure.

Inside the brochure you will find a complete listing of Silver Plan package features and perks, as well as a list of things not included in the plan.

I hope this helps you out.
Let me know if you need anything else.
::yes::

I love wishes too and probably wouldn't do Disney any other way! :)

We're doing the Silver Plan as well next week. My wife & I used the Gold Plan 2 yrs ago on our honeymoon, and we did well but we ending up eating and doing excursions more than going to the parks. Not that its was bad, we wanted to take our time a little more, but now we're better "Mouse comsumers"!!

Sakko, if you end up at a restauraunt that uses 2 wishes, such as Yatchtsman Steakhouse, you can really go for the gold there, just make sure each person tries to have a get over their $68 wish.
I'm aiming for $131 for my meal alone, Shrimp appatizer $11, Chateaubriand for Two - 18 ounze USDA choice tenderloin served with bernaise, crushed potatoes and sauteed mushrooms $80 plus $28 for lobster tail, and Dessert Sampler Platter, the chef's sampling of desserts $11. And if I get a soda for my drink I won't have to shell out a dime.

But I really like their frosted 20 oz goblets with ice cold draft beer for only $5, an awesome deal in WDW, at least that was the price last time!! And don't forget, your tax & tip is included with your meal, so you just have to pay for your alcohol+tax+tip.

We have the Dream Maker plus Silver Plan. We planned on using the wishes for dinner, show, tour and Cirque du Soleil with 2 left over to decide when we are there. My questions are:

- Has anybody used their wishes for the Merchandise?
- On the Dream Maker you get 2 lanyards and a $25 Planet Hollywood cert. Is this on your hotel card also like the Silver Plan.

phab:

a) I would never use it for merch. You dont get full value from it. Parasailing, etc, is different though. For the t-shirts and that other junk though, much better off paying cash.

b) Nope I believe the pin/lanyards you get from the gift shop at your hotel and the $25 cert is a coupon.

Actually, I used it for merchandise this last time and it was worth it for us. I paid the $10 for my son's meals and was able to get him a Mickey clock. (valued at $45) I also used a second wish for him and got him a Mickey keepsake box (also valued at $45) and paid for another one of his meals.

If you have younger children...they can't do tours so using their wishes for merchandise isn't a bad deal.

The $25 for Planet Hollywood is given to you in a certificate. You can use it at Plant Hollywood, have a round of putt putt, get a Disney poster and one more thing but forgot what it was. :)

Guys thank you for the info, very helpful, though now I have a few more questions...

I'm going to be dining at:

Yachtsman's Steakhouse

Fulton's Crabhouse

Coral Reef Restaurant

Artist Point

Which ones are 2 points and which are 1? Is there a list somewhere? My travel agent did all the reservations but she hasn't told us how many points each one is! We thought they were all two!

Also our points will be divided amongst our two room keys? Since each individual gets their own pool of points? So for each event are we presenting both cards for deduction of the proper amount of pts? Or is it common to bleed one dry for convenience and then start using the other one when #1 is empty?

Sorry for all the questions I am too specific some times :(

P.S. How are you all getting the countdown timers on your sigs? Those are awesome!

Sakko.....

The four restaurants you listed are all 2-wish ones. So, you really need to make sure you keep that in mind when making your menu selections.
If you download the PDF file brochure I gave you the link to above, you can see a complete listing of all the available restaurants, and which ones are 2-wishers.
It also tells you what else you can use your wishes for.

All of your wishes are pooled together and placed on the room keys.Kind of like a joint account credit card.
When one of you uses the card to redeem wishes, they are deducted from all cards in your party at once.

You can use the same card for payment all the time, or switch them around. Our kids get the biggest kick out of using their cards and "paying" for our dinner,LOL.

I'll have to get back to you with the countdown timer instructions.I need to go get them from another page.

We have 16 wishes to use. We plan to use them for our 4 dinners at Nine Dragons, House of Blues, Cinderelle Royal Table, Hoop Dee Doo, Cirque du Soleil, and Undiscovered Future World tour. We have 2 wishes leave. I have looked at the lunch menus, would you get your money worth ($34) . Any ideas.

Make sure you tell your server that you're on the Silver Plan and using your wishes. At a few restaurants they offer items not on the regular menu (usually Surf and Turf). In Jan. we were offered a lobster tail add-on at Coral Reef and a filet add-on at Fulton's - both were included in our package.

At the end of each meal you'll get a receipt that you have to sign like a credit card. At the bottom it will have your total number of wishes remaining. One time there was a glitch in Narcoossee's system and it only took off 1 wish per person instead of 2. Poof, extra wish:D

As for the pins and choice feature; you'll either get vouchers before you leave for your trip or at check-in. The voucher for pins and lanyards you have to redeem at the gift shop. The other voucher is your choice - that's either mini-golf, $25 at Planet Hollywood, the poster, or a Leave a Legacy tile. Just use the voucher for those.

HTH and have a great trip:D

Thanks again for all the info, that menu listing was fantastic.. a real shocker on the pricing too lol.. ahh well, live a little I say! Well that answers all my questions I think, but I sure know where to go if I have more! This forum rocks!

phabric...........

These are the restaurants that we have chosen for lunches, when we will beon the silver plan.
Le Cellier
Mama Melrose
Whispering Canyon
Cinderella's Castle

After carefully looking at the menus I think we will easily spend 34.00 each at each of them.

The others that I think you could easily spend 34.00 at would be:
Tony's Town Square (MK)
Most all the WShowcase eateries EXCEPT the buffets
Brown Derby (MGM)
RainForest Cafe
Concourse Steakhouse
Kona Cafe
And probably most the DT eateries

Just a tip....RFC is a one wish restaraunt but many times they will offer to add on lobster, crab, or filet mignon to your entrees if they know you are on a meal plan. We did the gold plan but our total for lunch for 2 was around $131.

@ the Animal Kingdom. For three adults the bill came to $243 of course tip was included, but for 1 wish each....the amount of food we ate was unreal.....bordering sinful. We got a choice of 14 oz New York Strip or 8 oz filet mignon + a half lobster filled with a crab meat dressing..the plate also included a huge portion of mashed potatoes, some other veggies. Dont forget we each had an appetizer to begin with....then dessert...and drinks in a suvenir cup worth $8. each...we were hurting. Besides Cirque Du Soleil, this was the best wish use we had. We also had lunch at CRT, Brown Derby Fantasmic Package, Hoop de Doo, Spirit of Ohana Luau, Chef Mickeys. We had 24 wishes to use and we used the child wishes for the adults and paid cash for the childrens meals...1 child in our family....

The silver add on cost of $713 but when I added up our receipts from the wishes use, the total came to almost $1300....big savings.
