I did our check-in for this sailing and our PAT is 3:30 pm, which was the earliest available. PATs ranged from then to 6:30 pm. I was just wondering if there were any earlier times listed. The ship is scheduled to leave port around 8:30 pm (all aboard), so maybe PATs are later than what I’m used to at Port Canaveral.

The late embarkation might be due to the Magic sailing from New Orleans to Galveston the day before (repositioning, no passengers). Maybe their expected time of arrival doesn’t allow them to board passengers in the late morning as on normal cruises.

^^^ This is my guess as well. There was another fairly recent post about the first cruise out of NOLA leaving similarly late.

We are actually on that cruise out of NOLA right now. The first night was an absolute you-know-what show. Mostly the muster drill. Cast members were anywhere from 10-15 minutes late getting to their muster stations, although that wasn't their fault. They didn't make the announcement for them to report to their stations until a few minutes after the drill was supposed to have started. This lead to large crowds standing around in the halls/staircases for the theater muster stations. This also made it difficult for people to het to muster stations out on deck. There was no real communication regarding dining. Our dining time was always listed as 815 even though the drill was scheduled for 815 and for 45 minutes. The navigator app times were wrong for many things the first day/night.
The only 3 good things were that we were on a disney cruise, we were able to walk right on after checking in even being there 30 minutes before our PAT, and we could go straight to out staterooms.

Thanks all! My main concern is that I don’t want to arrive at our PAT and then have to sit around the boarding area, waiting for a hour or two before they board. If boarding is similar to the first cruise out of NOLA, we should be good.
