Magic ~ October 22, 2016 ~ 7 nights NYC/Bahamas/WDW/NYC

Hi All, my husband and I just booked, no luck joining in any social media, just wanted to join in and say hello. See everyone on the ship!!
Hi there and Welcome! That sure is a last minute booking! Good for you! I thought our cruise was mostly full (I guess it probably is) as we got lots of people who booked for our sailing after cancelling the 8 day Oct 5th sailing that turned into a Canada itinerary.

There actually was a good many cabins left for so close to the date. We nabbed a balcony on 8 for a decent orice and used our airfare from our cancelled cruise due to Matthew.

I was thinking of starting up a Disney-themed role playing game to play aboard the ship. I was going to make it simple, perfect for beginners, and not that serious. I'm figuring we could play in one of the bars so, like any good RPG adventure, liquid refreshments would be available to those that want them. Would anybody be interested in playing? Feel free to message me.

I will check with my dh as he loves that type of thing and I like the liquid part, lol so will be happy to join in! Let us know when and where and we'll show up!

What is everyone doing about pictures? pre-ordering a package? just using their cameras/iphones? etc.....Is the all digital pictures ($295) or the digital + prints ($395) package worth it?

My family vacations a lot, I cant even keep up with all the pictures I have and I have stopped taking a lot. My kids are bigger and not too interested in character meet and greets. We do like to get dressed up for formal night and have our photo taken as a family. I will buy that photo and perhaps 1 or two more so obviously it doesn't make sense for me to buy the package. If you don't get to vacation as often and will enjoy having a bunch of pictures to sort into albums and/or if your children are little and you intend to watch the navigator for character greetings and line up for them, and if your family likes getting dressed up for the formal pictures in the lobby then yes its worth it. I believe the photos run $20 each so you can make the picture package worth it just by having the formal photos taken in the lobby every night and a character meet and greet once a day. In my opinion if I were to do it I would do the just digital. For $100 I should be able to have printed all the photos I want, Many I would think though you wouldn't have printed in full size and might use to make a printed album through a shutterfly type site or something. Good luck deciding!

Thanks so much, Cheryl! I'm so glad that we planned Palo, etc for when we did! No scheduling conflicts so far. :D

Does anyone know how the return to the ship from WDW work? Are their regularly scheduled buses throughout the day? How often to they come? Or is there a scheduled pick-up time?

From what I've been told there will be multiple busses coming back from the parks. You don't schedule a return time or a park where you pick up that return bus. When you are tired, or when the park closes you just go out to the designated area for the Disney Cruiseline shuttles and line up/get on the bus back to the ship.

Ahhh.. Thank you for the info.

If anyone wants to say hello, I'm a big Baymax-sized guy wearing a ridiculous, loud shirt with sailboats on it.

I'm still considering playing a Disney-themed (and very simple) RPG. There are still a few hours left to let me know if you're interested.

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful cruise! Our cruise started our great, but after midnight Monday night into Tuesday, I became violently ill. I ended up with IVs and medications by Tuesday morning, and was quarantined in our cabin until after WDW day, so I totally missed Castaway Cay (and we had a cabana on Serenity Bay booked) and totally missed WDW. I never felt good even on the last day, but I'm finally feeling better now.

Having said all of that, we greatly enjoyed the first few days before I got sick. :) And this is the first time that I lost weight on a cruise. LOL

I thought all of the FE gifts were great!!

Did anyone rebook while onboard? We did. We booked the April 2018 WBPC. We're not sure if we'll keep that cruise, or change it to a different sailing.

That was you?? I was following you in the other group but I didn't realize it was you. Sounds so awful. I was also sick but it was really only terrible the night before castaway. I was able to get off the ship at castaway a while and float around in a tube in the water. Was much better WDW day but still not 100% and couldn't eat anything until that evening so I missed 2 nights of dinners. One I didn't even go to, the other night I went but couldn't eat much just some plain pasta. I was bummed to miss as much as I did, I cant imaging having been in your shoes!
