magic moments pins

On the disney website, I keep seeing that rides are "enhanced by the magic moments pin". What are they talking about??

On some of the rides the lights on the pins blink. Children love them as do some of us older WDW fans.

Didn't have these but had a 100 years pin that would light up on the rides and fantasmic. What I thought was cool however is in Haunted Mansion it was lighting up to the rythum of a heartbeat and think I could hear a heartbeat in the background sound at that part of the ride!

The "100 Years" and "Magic" pins are the same thing with different designs. They're pretty cool. They go off on rides, during parades, and after shows like Fantasmic. The only bad thing about them is the batteries only last a few days since they are basically radio receivers that are constantly on once you pull the battery tab after you buy them. I think the "Magic" pins are $16, but they still have the "100 Years" pins at the Belz Outlet for $4.

Can you replace the batteries in them, and if so, do you know what kind of batteries they use?

Yes I think they use 2032 batteries or is it 3023's? anyway the answer is yes they are replacable. They are a lot of fun to see what attractions activate them and where.

If I'm not mistaken, when you purchase them, they come with an extra set of batteries. It's been a while since I've bought one, but I love them.

They do come with an extra battery, but they don't last that long either. Every time someone woudl ring my remote doorbell, mine would go off!

Me and my DGF are heading to CSR and we are thinking of starting pin trading and im thinking these might be a way to start off trading. Another Question also is if we do decide to start trading should we wait and hit the outlit stores up when we get there (we will spend one evening shopping usaly the first night we get there) or shoud i spring for the starter kit that the DS has on sale and buy some pins off of ebay? help ?

There are actually 3 new styles of the Magical Moments Pins. One features the MK Castle, another has the 4 park icons and my favorite has Sorcerer Mickey on it. These have replaced the 5 designs for the original 100 Years of Magic. The new pins have been improved alot!!! They now play 4 games including laser tag. That's right, the new pins have a transmitter inside to activate other pins. A castmember also told me there are lots of new activation locations including Mission Space. The new pins also have an ON/OFF switch to save the batteries. The old pins will still work, but the new ones are much cooler.
