Magic Moment Pins

I was just reading about the fantasmic show at the Disney website, and it says the show interacts with the magic moment pins. What are magic moments pins, and how do they interact with the show?

I think these are the same pins they had a few years back. There was a pin for each park. The pins had lights that would light up on certain attractions. I'm thinking it may have been some infrared magic
