Magic, Memories and..... MCSPARKELSONS! A Christmas Grand Gathering! Update 5/1

Yummy margarita! God, how I love that place.

We can only do one park when we go in August, and like the idiot.....I mean wonderful, thoughtful Mommy that I am...I let the kids pick. Of course, they both picked MK. I tried to to cajole them, remind them how much they loved that Nemo ride, etc., etc., but nothing doing.

It seems Mommy's need for alcohol....I mean need for a lovely walk around a beautiful lake learning about different cultures...means nada to my kids.

it stinks that it was raining but so glad you guys all enjoyed San Angel Inn! It's one of our favorites!

I tried one of the Ritas from the stand side the outside the pavilion a couple years ago and it was SO strong I couldn't drink it. I'm hoping to give the Cava a go this year, and also hoping I can actually finish my drink!

Good luck with your surgery!

As usual I am loving your report. Funny, the menu at San Angel Inn is exactly why we have never eaten there, we want what we call traditional food.

Hope all goes well with your surgery and recovery.

I'm having a partial thyroidectomy on Wednesday so I may not be on for a few days.....

Take care of yourself Kara. My sister had a partial thyroidectomy a few years ago and was quite happy with the results. She says she regained her energy after having the surgery.

And here they are...

notecards001-1.jpg

It was a little hard to get a picture without a glare...perhaps because they were LAMINATED?!?!?!?

I will get pictures of the individual days as well!!!

Love the Mexico Pavillion review. Your food looked delicious! We just hate a La Hacienda again a couple weeks ago and it was sooooo good. We will have to try to eat at that one some time now.

Good for your Dad and all the energy he has to do the world. He looks like he is really enjoying himself.

Good Luck with your surgery and hope you have a speedy recovery. :flower3:

You are really stacking up the cruises there GF! :thumbsup2 Freedom of the Seas sounds like a wonderful boat. I wanted to do a cruise for Nick's HS graduation, but he wants to rent a beach house. um...ok then!

I loved the avocado rita. So good. I'm also a big fan of the San Angel Inn so I'm glad everyone enjoyed it.

Good luck with your surgery on Wednesday. I hope you are feeling well again in no time!

Thank you Mary Ellen! I love the avocado rita the best - it's so creamy, more like a milkshake than a margarita! I'll call it a shakearita!!!!

Even for a die hard coaster and spinny ride fan, once on Orange was enough for me too!

Love Grandpa's energy! I have a feeling he had to be on his toes with you girls around as kids!

Good luck with the surgery Wed! Happy and quick healing, and of course hopefully lots of DIS board surfing during recovery!

Oh, I will have my nook color AND my iphone for DISing..... ONly in one night so I will have my puter back on Thursday.

Good luck with the surgery! I love the report. ;)

Jill in CO

Thank you Jill! I hope to not be down too long!

We have never eaten in Mexico. I also need to try the Avocado Rita! I hope your surgery goes well.

Yes, Kristi, you MUST try the avocado rita! And you MUST go inside the pavillion to get it - soooo much better than the outside stand!!! I'm not a big avocado fan, but I do like this!!!! Wonder if the hospital will allow that after surgery? They did mention a sore throat for a few days so I'm suuuuuure this would help?

OH, here's the problem as I see it. You have failed in the raising of your children. Plain and simple. Do they not understand what Epcot has that NOOOOO other park has? Why have you even allowed them to be tempted by that silly place? I suppose you are one of those crazies who allow your children to sing while on IASW? Shame on you! You need to get your priorities straight.

Here's what I recommend. Show them videos. Of Epcot. And Epcot only. But don't say "Epcot" - say "Disney World." Before long, they will assume, like the rest of us, that Epcot IS Disney World!!! See? Problem solved! :rotfl2:

I miss Rita. :(

She said she missed you too. I asked.

Kara,
praying and hoping your surgery goes well!!

Thank you very much!!! :cloud9:

Good luck with your surgery. Make your hubby & Ally wait on you!;)

Oh Mother of Wicket, I not only have Jeff and Ally to wait on me, I am flying in Grandma to take care of me too!!!! Cause let's face it, I need my mommy when I'm sick.....

enjoying your report....
good luck on wednesday...

Denise.

Thank you Denise!!!! I'll be back!

No, do not waste your time or money at those stands outside - you must go into La Cava..... They are more, but they are sooooo much better! Blended perfectly using BETTER tequila!

Melissa - "traditional" food? :lmao: I know, I'm the same way. But let me just say, this was all very good. I know it was our version of "authentic" - no nachos, burritos, chimis.... lol But delicious!

Take care of yourself Kara. My sister had a partial thyroidectomy a few years ago and was quite happy with the results. She says she regained her energy after having the surgery.

Lack of energy is one reason they started checking my thyroid, as well as heart palpitations, but a stress test came back normal. So I'm really hoping this fixes me all up!

Ya know, Chris? The one time we ate at La Hacienda, on our DISmoms trip, I was not impressed..... We just munched on appys so I may need to try it again.......

Thank you everyone! If you're on facebook, I have a couple friends who will tag me when the surgery is over so you'll know I'm okay...... Cause I'm sure you'll all be pacing your office, kitchen, school, bus stop, grocery store, whatever, from 8:30-10:00 tomorrow.... :rolleyes1

kami - thanks for the pics! Love the cards!

Kara - lack of energy from you? This from the woman who OJ hurdled benches to get to the bus first?

Good luck!

I just reread my last post and realized that a chunk of it made no sense. While I WISH it was from drinking margaritas...it's actually just a problem I'm having with our stupid laptop. You sit there typing away like a fool and the laptop catches up about a minute later and the result is NOT what you just typed. Glad you knew what I was trying to say though! I will definitely give La Cava a try in July!

Hey everyone! Kara came through her surgery fine today and is home resting and eating ice cream!

And here they are...

Perfect! I knew I learned it from KJ! :cool1:

Kara-Glad your surgery went well! We ate at San Angel about 5 years ago and we weren't impressed but that platter of tacos looks really good! We have become big fans of La Hacienda and usually eat there once each trip (and watch illuminations while we eat). Maybe we will need to give SA another try. Because we always make a trek to the ditch anyway - gotta have my jalapeño margarita :thumbsup2

OK, that was just me rambling, cause you know I DID hurdle those benches...... ;)

Must. Drink. Ritas....... they just won a bunch of awards - I can remember if it was theme park bars, or Orlando bars, but they got best bartenders and best bar food...... The bartenders really ARE awesome!

Ah yes, Grasshopper.... And thanks for updating on my surgery! :thumbsup2

Love all this info!

Oh, there's a LOT more coming!!!!

When we ate there in 1998 I was not impressed, but this time was great.

Thank you all for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers for my surgery. I just got the biopsy results and there is NO CANCER!!!! Now if that doesn't call for a dancing banana, I don't know what does!!!!

This 3 month ordeal is officially CLOSED! Well, except for one more followup appt in a month, and annual ultrasounds to keep an eye on things..... But I am soooo relieved and promise to get back to work on this TR!!!!

Thanks for sticking by me!

Kara - Glad your feeling well enough to do replies. Hope you feel a little better every day! :thumbsup2

Great News!:dance3: I know how you feel, got my good news last May!

Hope that you will have lots of energy!
