:scared1: one of my daughters (she will be 8) is scared of the big roller coaster and is a bit of a chicken for frightening rides.
so which rides should i avoid for her:)
thanks kellie

Space Mountian may be one to avoid.

Splash Mountian has some big drops and some that are completley in the dark.

Big Thunder Mountain is relativley tame for a rollercoaster, you may be ok with that one.

The Haunted Manison is not really bad unless you are really frightened of dark places/loud noises etc.

Some children get scared of Snow White's Scary Adventures. It's not too bad at all, but that is from an adult point of view. It has a few dark scenes.

The Barnstormer at Mickey's Toontown Fair is ok, but is a rollercoaster, even if a very tame one.

A lot of children seem to get scared at the Stitch experimnet ride thing. It'scompletley pitch black sometimes, very noisy etc.

Only you will know the limits of your children, you may want to go through the rides first yourself to check them out (time permitting of course).

I dont think I have forgotten any, the rest should be completley ok.

My daughter was the same at this age, but she went on Splash Mountain no problem-just a big log flume really. Space Mountain is very like the 'Black Hole' at Alton Towers if you've ever been on that-again she was OK on that. Snow White mine have always called 'Not so scary Adventure' so OK with that. None of the 'Roller Coasters' at MK 'loop', which is what worried my daughter.

I'm a great beliver in 'don't force them' as I think that makes them worse. I introduced her to small coasters-like the Barnstormer first. She'll now go on any coaster! (since the age of 10) but won't entertain Tower of Terror at all, also won't go back on Stitch - but loves Haunted Mansion.

As previously posted, you know your daughter - take advantage of 'child swapping' if you need to - it works well.

Have a great holiday

Most kid's are different and to a degree you won't really know which rides are suitable until you go on them.
Goofy's Barnstormer is about the limit for Joshua at MK, but many children his age or younger go on Splash Mountain and Space Mountain.

I agree that Space mountain is probably the only one to really avoid, but I think you may be surprised once she's ridden a few other ones that she may be willing to give it a go.

in the other parks avoid Everest (in AK) Rock n Roller coaster (in mgm) and Mission: space (in Epcot)

Its funny, but my 7 y.o loves space mountain but wont go anywhere near any of the 3D shows - like philharmagic/bugs life etc.
He must be the only child ever to be terrified of the Little mermaid. (Had to take him out - he really doesn't like loud/scary noises).
I just don't make him go on anything he might be scared of - he's only little and theres plenty other things to enjoy

I guess you just have to try to let her know what they are like and let her decide.

It is common for young children to be startled on some of the 'so called' less intense rides Irene.
Many have been frightened by the Snow White ride, which is essentially for little one's.. mind you the witch does look a little scary I suppose.
