I'm just wondering how terribly crowded MK will be thanksgiving day. I'm arriving that day and was thinking of going to magic kingdom for the day. Maybe for festival of fantasy. Would love to hear from people that were actually there in recent years on thanksgiving day. Or Epcot at night?

i'm sure there will be others that will disagree with my own personal experiences.

my family has been to WDW during thanksgiving many times since 1974.
trust me if it was all that crowded we would not continue to go during that time.

the most recent time was in 2012 and we went to MK on thanksgiving day.

it was quite pleasant.
we were easily able to eat lunch at BOG even though it was the first day it opened.
we walked on a number of the attractions and did our favorites twice.

I was there for my son's band trip over Thanksgiving last fall. We were in DHS for a band performance during the day on Thanksgiving day and headed to Epcot after dinner for Illuminations.

My family ate at the ABC Commissary for lunch and (minus band kid) did the Thanksgiving buffet at Hollywood and Vine for dinner. (The band had a special meal in Epcot, but only band kids and people on the official trip attended. We had our own accommodations.)

I was pleasantly surprised at how manageable the crowds were. We went to MK on Black Friday, too, and even that wasn't too bad.
