Has anyone out there ever get picked to be on the train with Mickey? I always wondered how to get asked to be the welcoming family. Do you need pixie dust or is there an actual strategy?

when i went on the Keys to the Kingdom tour they talked about something similiar. a family or a couple usually get picked to be special guests that ride out on a float just before the afternoon parade. anyway, she explained how they pick and choose them, so maybe it's the same? she said that sometimes it's people wearing the bride and groom mickey hats, or it's families who look like they're so obsessed with Disney lol. they said they sit at the front of the park when it opens and they try to pick the people, trying to see who is the "happiest" person in the park.

We've done this 4 or 5 times . Go early to the Magic Kingdom (I mean reallyyyy early) and ask a CM if someone has been picked and if you can do it. For a 9:00 opening I think we were getting there at like 7:15 or so. If there has been someone picked, they may have you come back another day which will sort of be reserved for you to do this.

Our kids love doing this.
