Magic Kingdom Night Show

I have not been to Magic Kingdom since the night parade has ended. Last time we were there we watched the parade then were moved from sidewalks into the streets for fireworks. How does this work now? Are you allowed to watch the projection show and fireworks from the street? Are pathways still kept clear? Are the streets taped off and you have to stay behind the tape line on the ground?
