Magic Kingdom 50th "wishes & dreams".

Disney has five years to prepare for the 50th anniversary of the Magic Kingdom so it is time to get your "wishes" out there... What would you like to see in place for the Magic Kingdom's 50th anniversary? Put your imagineer hats on and let's think big!

Maybe they could decorate the castle to look like a big birthday cake!!!!

Something more like the DVC party ones. I like the sky FULL of light rather than the individual shape ones.

But if you are going to do a castle thing, 50th would mean painting it all gold, hey use glitter and mod podge ..............

Maybe I should have named the thread differently....
What I meant was any type of wish you have to be ready for the 50th anniversary. I'm thinking big. I'd like to see another major addition to the Magic Kingdom. More from me on that to come later…

The rumor right now is tomorrowland is going to get some stuff and a new land in mk. Some stuff in epcot. phase 2 of hs might be srarted and done.

Im seeing a lot of we abandoned this property.love starting. 5th park is a possibility too.

PARADES!!!

I can't believe Disneyland has 3 parades for 2 parks while Disney World has 1 parade for 4 parks...

I want an amazing new fireworks show like DLR had for their 50th that highlights the signature attractions. In fact, I want the celebration to be on par with what they did for DL's 50th. Free ear hats to those who enter the part that day (I'm planning to be there!). Would love to see lots of old characters come back for meet and greets, especially the Orange Bird. DLR had a vintage day last year where people were encouraged to dress like the day DLR opened. It would be fun to see something like that with people sporting some fun '71 clothes. Would love to see exhibits showing lots of vintage items. Would be fun if things like drinking cups and shopping bags had the same designs seen when the park opened. Little touches like that would make it even more special.

• I wish for fabulous new parades (both for day and night) in MK.
• New, updated attractions in Epcot to replace Energy, Innoventions, Imagination, and what used to be Wonders of Life; and maybe a new country or two in World Showcase.
• More attractions at HS that get back to TV and movie magic.
• AK night show.
• Some newly created version of Pleasure Island.
• More thrill rides.
• Monorail expansion to all 4 theme parks.

My wish has to do with expansion. I would like to see Adventureland expansion as Stephen Foster alluded to in a dis board article from January 2015 . My expansion thoughts are Pirates of the Caribbean. I would like to see either a new land or an additional attraction at the quality level of Pirates of the Caribbean in Shanghai Disneyland in an expanded Adventureland. The four POC movies had combined worldwide box office receipts of over $3.7 billion! More POC, especially with the new movie coming out in May 2017!! My wish does not include any change to the current POC attraction.

PARADES!!!

I can't believe Disneyland has 3 parades for 2 parks while Disney World has 1 parade for 4 parks...

But WDW does have a wide variety of night night shows (Illuminations, Fantasmic, Wishes, Star Wars Fireworks and even RoL soon). At DLR, the Pixar Parade at DCA is going dark soon. Likewise, there is no night parade in DL right now at all. Also no Fantasmic right now. The fireworks that has been showing since 9/6 is a 4 1/2 minute show.

Now that's a horse of a different color.

50th will be for Magic Kingdom and "Walt Disney World" but other than having the SW and TS Land and other projects complete in anticipation of lots of guests, I would expect the main focus would be on MK.

Celebration:
- Cupcakes of course
- NEW night parade
- New fireworks
- New Celebrate projection
- New Castle Show
- Lots of merchandise

Tomorrowland:
- Expect the changes we've seen like signs, paint, etc to continue
- New attraction in the Stitch Encounter
- PERSONALLY I would like to see Speedway removed and valuable land put to better use.
Slow loader that is noisy and that smell has to be toxic.

Frontierland:
- Long rumored major renovations there
- With potential for new attraction that may incorporate Tom Sawyer Island
- Would like to see more Pirates in Adventureland but space seems to be issue

New Land?
- They have some strict rules about expansion, they would need to be creative.
- If they took out Speedway and found a creative way to land on other side of
train tracks (like Space Mountain) it could be large enough for new land.
- Don't believe it will happpen.


AFTER SEEING THE Guardians of the Galaxy plan for ToT CA, I would love to see something like this visually (not the same ride of course) in Tomorrowland with Space Mountain made to match.

At the pace Disney works, anything major would have to be in the works already to be reliably open in 5 years.
