I've been through an awful lot of snowstorms, and even several blizzards.

But I've never seen a warning like this. All of southeastern Wisconsin is under a Civil Danger Warning. Which kind of looks like: "Stay home cuz if you get stuck we can't come get you.":eek:

They're even advising people not to leave their cars and to run their engines for 10 minutes per every hour......I think I'll stay right here at home!

Kelly, That's almost scary! What worries me are ppl that possibly lose their electricity or those that HAVE to go to work in this mess! So glad you can stay home! I saw where Delta cancelled ALL their flights last night in Chicago. Unbelievable! Enjoy your warmth and stay safe!!

And as far as the door magnets....We're gonna give it a go, but to me, if you print a big 8X11 in color won't that use all your ink up? You can tell, when I print, it's usually documents/letters and a few small colored things, so I really don't know:confused3

Unfortunately, our door will be the one that says "Newbie" all over it..though perhaps not in words...:)

Here is my 5'-8" son trying to tackle the driveway.

Here is the entry to my house before I shoveled this morning. But I had just shoveled at 10pm last night. That window that is all covered is my daughter's bedroom. Its like a cave in there right now.

And after.
100_0273.jpg

Look! We found our mailbox! Of course, we will lose it again when the plows come through.

And here is my poor dog, Max not knowing where to "go". Those drifts are bigger than him and that was after I shoveled!

Can I just say.....I'd rather be here!

Sullins5- We are from STL- the weather here goes from 100 with heat index of 115 in the summer to 0 with wind chill of -15 in the winter. Very crazy weather here- it can vary by 50 degrees any given day in the winter depending on what type of front is moving through.

We had a blizzard warning, but just got a lot of sleet and about 4 inches of snow, the wind didn't pick up so we are free and clear.

DH will wear a suit and tie for formal night, same for DS. We usually plan Palo for Pirate Night- but that was on 4 day cruises, not sure when we are going to do Palo this time.

Oh my goodness! I haven't seen that much snow since I moved from VA (in 70's)!!! It looks like 3 or 4 feet! Know the kids are having a ball! And yes..I'd rather be in a hammock too! Only ...(need Tigger/pooh4 for this one) 9 more months to go!!! Yayyy!

And tmtee...glad y'all didn't get it too bad! I have a friend that lives in OFallon, and texted her, but didn't hear how she fared!

As far as formal? lol..My dh has assured me after having to go to a funeral this week, that I'll get a coat/tie but that's it!! :goodvibes Hey...I'm just happy to get on a ship! And none to soon! Have a great day everyone!

We feel for you KellyJeanDVC. That was us last year. I suggest lots and lots of pain killers for all that shoveling. No fun at all. Oh well, we do what we have to do.

Just saying hi to you all. So I hope everyone is alright during this storm. Here in L.A. it was nice and sunny. Cold for us tonight, going to be in the 40's.

Love that Hammock scene TIGGER/POOH4

Oh.. That is sooo gonna be me in 8 months! And how do you do that?lol
I can't even figure out my signature or how to post pics...lol.
So, I'll enjoy y'alls!

And I'd like to know how he really sees his shadow anyway! When I saw him on the news, He didn't really look like he cared! With all this weather, I'd really be shocked if it was an early spring!

An aan1701...wow! Send some of your 'sunny' to Wisconsin, StL, Oklahoma..lol! Down here in Memphis, it's just back/forth/back/forth..but no snow this week anyway.

That's a lot of snow kellyjeandvc but it's great for the kids. We had quite bit of snow before Christmas and my girls loved it. Love the picture tigger/pooh4. Can't wait to get back to castaway cay my dh loved the hammocks.

Love the hammock pic too though I hope it isn't that cloudy when we are there in 8 months.:cool1: We were at -22 this morning but will get up to 20 today, yeah!! I think we even get above freezing tomorrow. I am dreaming of Castaway Cay...:cloud9:

Hey everyone!:) Just checked out a couple of threads, and wanted to say "HI!". Hope all of you that are snowed in are warm and cozy. Their actually forecasting (drumroll...) an inch or two here tonight. :lmao: I almost hate telling y'all that since for some of you, you're in dire situations! I do hope though that you still have power, and are staying safe!

Can 8 months 1 week (Thank you TIGGER/POOH4) go any slower? Is it just us that all we can seem to think about right now is our cruise? We still have spring break, holidays, and summer coming, but :scared1:ahhhhhh, this is all we can think about!!

Celebrating (won't come soon enough) our 1st Disney Cruise, my 5oth (or 29th continually), and the inlaws 50th Anniversary....

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

I too hope for a beautiful sunny CC day. On that day we were very happy to get to CC due to tropical storm Noel was due to the next day. It was a little rough and we left at 3pm but we had a good day and we saw one lucky couple get married by the captian due to the bahamians did not come to the island due to the weather. I have been lucky so far it that I am 6 for 6 in getting to CC.
-22 is way to cold for me.:scared1::scared1: Hope it warms up for you soon.

OMG -22:scared1:

If it ever gets that cold here. I think I'm driving to FL ASAP. Or anyplace warmer. Geeze

Weather is weird enough here. Got up to 72 yesterday(no it was not a record) and then back down to 40 today. GOD only knows what's coming next week, because the weather man has posted "Stay Tuned" on the days past Monday :rolleyes1

:banana::banana::banana:

IT'S FRIDAY, IT'S FRIDAY!!!! One more day until we countdown to another week passing!:rotfl:

YES, you know you're losing it, when you have a countdown for your countdown!!! (Either that, or it's all this funky weather!)

One more week almost down!:yay::yay:

I agree, I love FRIDAYS!:cool1: I get 2 whole days off now. LOL We are finally getting our snow here. We got 8 inches yesterday plus have 20-50% chances through Tue. Of course we have to travel to Denver to pick up our son at the airport so I am sure it will be snowing hard that day.:headache: Hopefully it won't be bad. He will be here for a week so that will be great. I have to work all week but he will get to spend time with his Dad which will be good for them. Hope all of you on the East Coast don't get hammered again this weekend. :sad2:

Hello everyone! Our DSL has been down a few days, so I was going through major withdrawal. Last 3 days, we were in the teens, snow this morning, 40's this afternoon and 60's tomorrow. Gotta love this weather. Yesterday, people were going crazy raiding the grocery stores stocking up for O-N-E snow day (really hours, not even 24). So the schools were out for 'snow' day. DS got up bright and early to go play in the snow. He had a ball stomping in the inch of snow we got, making lilliputian snowman, using my roasting pan as a sled down my driveway this morning. We're loving this. Hope you guys have a great weekend.

Whew! Finally read all the posts i've missed since last checking in - you all have really had some great discussions going on!
I also realized I asked the question about excursions and haven't been back to answer anything - how rude of me! Sorry!

I'll throw my two sense in on a few things.....
Formal Night - DH and I don't get too gussied up for this. He wears dress pants and a polo and I wear a simple knee length dress w/ sandals. That's our "dressy cruise-ware." I'll also add that we've been on 3 cruises and I can't recall seeing anyone wear tuxes or floor-length gowns. But then again, i'm usually checking out the cast members laynards for intersting pins. :woohoo:

Excursions - DH & I are way too paranoid to book with anyone but DCL. It would be our luck that something would happen & the ship would leave without us.
We usually like to go on the historical tours of the places we go or places like museums, gradens, animal hatcheries, etc. Does anyone know any good ones?? someone mentioned a skyway tram or something? that sounded like a lovely place to take pictures!

I think the best thing I can reccommend is to make the cruise YOUR cruise. Some people love to run constantly and see and do everything. Others like to sit in a hammock (which sounds quite lovely by the way - LOVED those pictures!). I've done it both ways and both ways worked. It really depends on what you want to get out of it. I think for DH & I, this cruise will be about relaxing and enjoying the hidden spots of the ship as much as possible.

Which brings me to my next question....Have any of you "veterans" tried the Rainforest room of the spa?? I hear you can get a pass to just use the Rainforest room. Has anyone done this and do you reccommend it?

Hopefully I won't disappear for so long this time. :cool1:

Take care fellow cruisers!!

Good morning fellow cruisers. It is that time of the week again. Another week has gone by.
We now have only
