Can anyone tell me... I picked up my disney package from my TA yesterday, in the package it has yellow luggage tags, the TA told me that once I land in Orlando, we do NOT have to go and get our luggage from the thingy.. that the Magic Express people do all that for you....
I have read though that other travellers have had to get their own luggage and take it with them...
ahhhh I don't know what to do.
anyone know?

If you luggage is tagged with the yellow stickers, Magical Express will pick them up and deliver to your room - however, it may take up to 4 hours to receive them.

If you do not tag your luggage, you will have to pick them up, lug them through the airport and stash them on the bus taking them to your resort.

Its basically the choice of the traveller whether to pick up their own bags or not. If you leave your bags for ME to deal with you just go directly to check in to the buses and go straight to your resort...luggage to follow sometime later. If you don't want to have to wait the several hours it will take for your luggage to catch up, you can get it yourself and bring it with you on the bus. I've heard many pros & cons to both choices.

We will be letting ME do it for us when we go in Dec. I'll just make sure I have swim stuff etc in the carry-on so we can get by until the luggage arrives. I figure getting DH and both kids organized and to the bus will be enough without adding suitcases

As long as you pre-clear US customs in Canada you can leave your bags for ME. If not, you will have to get you bags, clear customs in Orlando, then you can either drop your bags back off on the other side or take them to ME with you.

Last August we took Me and out the yellow tags on our lugage. We had no problem receiving our luggage it was about 3 hours late(We didn<t have a direct flight either) it was nice to relax we enjoyed our day at the park... When we came back our luggage was in our room.I loved ME.

I have to say that we quite enjoy ME.
It is so nice, especially with small kids to get off the plane and just head for the Magical Express and one our way to the Hotel ... Let them worry about the bags.
We usually pack a carry one with swimming stuff and Pj's as we usually take an afternoon flight to WDW.
Once we get to the resort we check into our room go and grab dinner and then head for the pool. Our bags have never taken more then 4hrs to make it to our room .

Yes, they can leave your bags in your room, providing you had a room ready when you checked in. Once we checked in too early, and had to call the resort after 3pm to get our room #. When we finally arrived at our room we had to call luggage services and ask them to bring our bags. But if your room is ready when you check in, your bags should get delivered whether or not you are in the room.

This is true if you carry them to the bus yourself.

Otherwise, the automated system will NOT catch bags that do not have the yellow tags and in that case, your bags would stay at the airport unclaimed baggage check until you figured out they weren't coming ...

Bottom Line : If you want ME to transport your bags.. use the yellow tags.

When you go to the ME Counter at the airport, you give a description of your bags and they will put them on the bus even wthout yellow tags.
Did it on my last trip.

If you are flying out of Detroit then you will have cleared customs when you crossed the border. No need to worry about your bags, you can put the yellow tags on and they will be delivered!

I'm flying out of Vancouver, and then making a plane change in Toronto onto Orlando.

In the past when we did Vancouver-Toronto-Miami, I vaguely remember having to pick up our bags in Toronto and then putting them onto another conveyor belt. But I honestly don't remember a thing about customs - I have three young sons and it's hard enough remembering who I'm yelling at on the best of days!

Can anyone help me figure out if I do pre-clear customs in Toronto and whether I can take advantage of having Magical Express picking up my bags for me?

We flew out of Buffalo and had no problems...we put the yellow tags on the luggage and that was it...we didn't even have to give a description of our bags...we loved it...no worry except how we were going to contain ouselves until we got to the hotel...

We are flying that route on Westjet in 3 weeks and have been told by Westjet that we will pick up our bags in Toronto and clear customs there.
