I posted this elsewhere but someone said it's probably better to post it here in the transportation forum.

Hi all! I am back again with my 3 millionth question of the day...LOL

I am confused about this Magic Express service. Is this for all airline & all people staying at a Disney resort? Is this different from "Resort Air-line check-in service" that I have been reading about? Resort Airline check-in says that is only for certain airline & the one I'm traveling on isn't on the list...

Thanks everyone for your help

Resort Airline Check-in only has to do with the return leg of the trip, when someone is checking out of the hotel and going back to the airport. Resort Airline Check-in is limited to people who are flying a participating airline. It's actually separate from DME, in that people who aren't riding the DME bus back to the airport can still use the Resort Airline Check-in service. They will be able to check in for their flight (and get boarding passes) and will check their luggage and won't see it again until they get to their home airport's baggage claim carousel.

When you fly into Orlando's airport (MCO), EVERYONE who flies in AND is staying at a Disney-owned resort can use DME. You will receive special luggage tags (stickers) that you will put on your checked luggage before you leave home. You check in at your home airport the same exact way as you would any other time. Your home airport and the airline know nothing about DME and they don't have to. They have nothing to do with it.

When you arrive at MCO, you get to skip baggage claim and go right to the DME counter. From there, you'll be directed to a queue for your bus to your resort. Meanwhile, airport employees are pulling all DME-tagged bags "behind the scenes." These bags will never see the baggage claim carousel. They will be loaded onto trucks and delivered to the proper resorts. These bags will "magically appear" in your room (magic because you don't have to be there for them to be brought inside) about 1 - 4 hours later.

On the way home, whether or not you fly a participating airline, you still get a free bus ride back to the airport if you want it. You'll be picked up at your resort 2.75 - 3 hours before your flight time.

ENJOY!
