Magic express and check out question

We need check out of Port Orleans Riverside at 11:00 am, but our plane doesn't leave until almost 5:00. We were planning on doing a little shopping at DTD before we leave. Can we still use magic express, and if so, do they keep our luggage at the hotel until we actually leave for the airport? I'd hate to have to drag my luggage all over Downtown Disney. And do we have to go back to our resort to catch magic express or can we catch it from Downtown Disney?

Yep...you can still use it. You can check your bags at the resort. They will put them in a locked area and you can even go in if you need to get something out of a bag. DH and I get bell services to take our luggage when we arrive and before we leave on each trip. Then you can take full advantage of your stay and not have to worry about your luggage. It's a great service.

Keep in mind a few things:

1. Resort airline check-in is available for select airlines. Resort airline check-in will take your checked luggage and issue your boarding passes so you can bypass this at the airport. Resort airline check-in is only available if you are flying domestically (includes Puerto Rico) on the following airlines: AirTran, Alaska Airlines, American, Continental, Delta, JetBlue, Northwest, United (including TED) AND USAirways

2. Resort airline check-in closes at either 1 or 2 PM.

And, no, you cannot catch ME at Downtown Disney. You must catch it from the resort you are leaving.

I have a related question. My group will be arriving and leaving in three different groups from probably 3 different airlines, at different times, but are all on one reservation. Can we all use ME?

Yes. You'll have different departure times for ME from your resort.

Any halfway decent hotel in the USA will store your bags for you after you check out.

The day before you check out, you will be notified of your DME bus pick-up time. You'll need to be at the proper spot about 15 minutes before that. Before you leave the resort, have Bell Services store your bags. Go out and play. Make sure you return to the resort in plenty of time to get your bags out of storage and still have time to catch the bus.

As mentioned earlier, DME will take people only to/from the resort where they are staying.

we also had a 5 pm flight. when we packed up the room that am, we went right to magical express, dh stood in line for that while i stood in line for check out. then we enjoyed the park for a few hours. the bell services area will hold onto any carry ons you are planning on bringing on board...we personally checked all bags except one carry on, remember you can check 2 per person, so take advantage if you don't think you will need all of those carry on's
