Staying AKV 11/11-11/15 and VWL 11/15-11/19. Paying cash for the 20th (and waitlisting). Waitlisted at BCV, there was only 1-2 nights available (for the 2nd part of my trip). I was waitlisted at BCV from 11/15-11/20, and just called thinking I'd change it to 11/15-11/19, since I'm willing to pay cash for the 20th anyway....well, what do you know? The nights were suddenly available---no waitlist, got a 2 BR from 11/15-11/19 at BCV!!!!! We are so siked, this is our home resort and we really wanted to be there part of the trip, and as some of you know (from my extensive ramblings) we have a large group already staying there.
I waitlisted the night of the 20th, held the room on cash, and also waitlisted the entire 5 nights in a lockoff (most likely to come through, MS rep told me).

So excited, I had to share. We would have been thrilled to stay at VWL, but LOVE BCV and this is quickly turning into a perfect vacation. AKL Grand Villa for 4 nights, BCV 2 BR for 5 nights!

Being able to call and check availability often is a big benefit of owning over renting. You have more control and options, like waitlisting, paying cash for missing nights etc.

I see you are already in the swing of things for last minute planning!

I agree, and I have to say as a new member, I am thrilled with how helpful and accommodating MS has been. The lady today was amazing. I have called quite a bit, I admit, but that's the nature of the game. We really wanted BCV and I looked into every option; and voila! We got it.

Now I'm just hoping that last Saturday night (11/20) comes through. That would really be the icing on the cake!
As for last minute planning, trust me, this is the first and only time I'll be doing so. We are definitely planners, just worked out this way b/c we just closed on our contract. From here on out, I'll be one of those 11 months, 9 a.m. types.

Thank you Sandi, I know I did a lot of worrying out loud here on the boards....I guess I showed my true rookie colors! I have to say that without this board I would NEVER have gotten this figured out. Just from all the reading I did here I felt like a veteran from the first call, and that helped a lot.
