Looking for anyone who will be on this cruise with us! Myself, DW, and my DH have been on a cruise before but this will be our first Disney cruise and it will be our DS's first cruise ever. We are very excited!

I think this is where we're supposed to post info about starting an FE. If you're interested, please post info about your travelers and we can get a group started. Never done this before so if there is anyone else who is on this cruise who's coordinated an FE, great, please advise!

I am not sure if I'm into the FE thing. But, I just wanted to say hi! We are getting ready to book our trip on this cruise. This will be my 2nd cruise, but 1st Disney cruise for everyone in my family. I'm so excited!

We have decided to book this cruise as our family Christmas gift. We are so excited this will be our first cruise. We have our family of 5 plus grandma and grandpa. Our last big family trip was Disneyland in 2013. Couldn't be happier to be getting away in the middle of winter either, we're contemplating adding trip insurance in case of flight delays. Anyone else use trip insurance?

We are on this cruise too and got trip insurance through USAA. The prices were VERY reasonable!

Just booked our Disney Cruise! Super excited!! This will be our first Disney Cruise. My sister and her family of 5 had the idea, so we decided to join. It will be my family of four and also my two nieces. We have never participated in a FE before but would like to join in.

For our trip for the 4 of us with travel expenses as well, the highest level of coverage (hubby has some medical conditions, so I needed to make sure EVERYTHING I could ever think of was covered) was $212.

Hey! I believe DS = Disney Son and DW = Disney Wife? We are also bringing our nieces with us too! Since this is your second cruise any advice on things to pack besides the normal. My in-laws went on a disney cruise last year and said pack some pirate gear. People dress up and they wish the would have brought stuff.

I picked up both of my daughters pirate costumes recently when I found them super marked down. I looked on Pinterest and found some really cute adult ideas that didn't require much crafting skill So I might have those with us just in case we decide we want to dress up! Looking forward to hearing what others are doing!

I am willing to put together a spread sheet of everyone that wants to join. If no one has ever done this, looks like we can make it how we like. Saw on others that you can do either family gifts or individuals, any ideas or it can be up to each family? Any ideas?

From all I have read, anyone interested signs up via a master list held by whoever takes on the duty. Most tend to limit the group to 10-15 cabins before opening up another group. The we just pass out gifts to the cabin numbers at some point on the cruise. I have seen people who do both cabin and individual gifts, some that just do cabin, others that do variations of all of the above. We want to sign up but I am not comfortable running it. Hopefully someone else will chime in with more info. Thanks for being willing to take it on!!

This will be our third cruise but the first from Miami. My parents cruised with us on our first Disney cruise. My sister and her family are coming along for their first cruise.

We have done the FE group in the past. I can help with organization.

Helpful info...
FE = fish extender

Outside each cabin is a hook. People get together online, ahead of time, and find out who/what ages/cabin # and agree to exchange goodies in their FE.

You can make, or in my case buy, a FE ahead of time to hang on the hook. This is where the goodies are given (think of stockings).

Do a google search on "fish extender". This will give you ideas on what they look like. It can be simple, or fancy.

Some people go all out and make their own goodies to give. Others buy goodies @ the Dollar Tree to give away. It is up to you. It is a fun way to chat about the cruise ahead of time, and get excited.

Cut Off dates: Typically, people want to plan ahead for the FE and have time to buy or make gifts. So, a cut off date for new joiners is established.

Important Info to post to join the FE group:
Cabin number
Adult names
Children names/ages/gender
Special Celebrations (birthdays/anniversaries/etc)
Allergy info (let's establish that nuts are not a good choice for FE gifts off the bat...I am a room Mom and banning nuts is easier than remember who can't have them)
