Magic bands

we have reservations for April14-21 at the Boardwalk. My magic bands still say pending. Any ideas when they will sent? Should I be calling them to find out? I’m a planner and to me this is cutting it a bit close!

yes call! We are going April 13-20 and got ours in the mail a few weeks ago.

Have you customized them? They usually send them about 4 weeks ahead, but can ship later if you are still customizing.

I don't believe the front desk accumulates customized magic bands that have not been shipped. They just give out the generic grey ones if you arrive for your stay without a band.

That is not accurate. I have seen front desk pull Magic Band boxes from behind the desk that have all the bands for a party in them, including colors and engraved names.

I think this is how it works:

You have to be sure to customize them through your MDE (which includes confirming your address). Up to a certain date, they will ship your customized magic bands. Beyond that, but up to another date, they will have your customized bands at the front desk. Beyond the last date (if you still haven't customized them), there will be the generic grey bands at the front desk. I know I've seen when those dates are (from a post on the Disboards), but I can't seem to find it.

Q. When is the deadline for customizing my MagicBand?

A. If you customize your MagicBand with your name and favorite color as soon as possible after making your Disney Resort hotel reservation:

• If you customize your MagicBand at least 11 days before you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel, it will be shipped to your home.
• If you customize your MagicBand between 10 days and 6 days before you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel, you will receive it when you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel.
• If you do not customize your MagicBand until 5 days or less before your arrival, you will receive a non-customized MagicBand when you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel.

MagicBand orders cannot be shipped to all countries.

As an international visitor the customised coloured bands are always waiting at the resort as they don’t ship internationally so you don’t get stuck with grey if they’re not posted.
